FileZilla: SFTP with private key

Submitted by tomallen4 on March 17, 2007 - 1:00pm

To access my Linux box at home, I use ssh with passphrase-protected encryption keys. I was able to set up Putty without any difficulty. My private key file (id_rsa.ppk) is on the USB drive in a relative path from the Putty directory.

I've been using WinSCP to transfer files between Windows machines and my home computer. I understand from other posts that WinSCP isn't really free due to the U3 situation, so I'm trying to use FileZilla instead. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to set up SFTP properly with my private key. I think it uses Putty, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Miranda: Problems with version 0.6.8

Submitted by Stapleated on March 15, 2007 - 7:08pm

At first, the portable launcher wouldn't load Miranda. I ran the program by running just the miranda32.exe from the App\miranda directory. I tried to connect to a Jabber server, and then it closed completely. Now, Miranda will open from the launcher from the menu, but closes after I log on to a Jabber server.

Any ideas/suggestions?

PuTTY: Short Session List

Submitted by Paul Taylor on March 9, 2007 - 11:33am

I'm new to PortablePuTTy, but a long-time user of native PuTTy.
I have 130+ Sessions in the registry (Windows XP).

I've exported the Sessions and appended to the putty.reg file
for PortablePuTTy, however when it is initially fired up,
only a small (variable number 1-20) of the session are visible
as 'Saved Sessions'.

Curiously if I start second/subsequent PortablePuTTy sessions
up a complete list is available.

Any suggestions ?
