Pidgin: Problem with the last gaim 2.0 beta3.1

Submitted by andreino on September 9, 2006 - 1:12pm

I have installed today the new beta 3.1 but it gives connection error problems and looks like it is gtk 2.8 that is installed in my system.
The wingaim plugin reports gtk 2.8 and not the one in PortableGaim directory, If I start the previous Portable gaim 2.0 beta 2 that run on my system without problems, wingaim plugin correctly report gtk 2.6.10.
Looks like the new Portable gaim find and use the localy installed gtk.
What can I do ?
Thanks
bye Andrea

Miranda registry entry

Submitted by wombat on September 4, 2006 - 5:25pm

I've noticed that as Miranda IM Portable starts up, it adds a registry entry to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Miranda
Within that, it adds a (Default) key and an Install_Dir key. The Install_Dir holds the directory path of wherever you ran the program from.

Since this is a portable app, shouldn't it prevent/remove these leftover registry keys?

Portable FileZilla isnt 100% portable

Submitted by snelhest on September 4, 2006 - 9:37am

Ive been using FileZilla portable for a while and i have noticed one thing. When you connect to a shell (via ssh2) you have to accept the key (you can choose to allways accept it which i did). When i use filezilla on another computer you have to accept it again. So i think this "setting" is stored in the registry. A reason for that is maybe that filezilla uses FzSFtp.exe to connect to shells and that this file havent been included in the nsis script.
