Portable App Development

I am setting up a PC after fitting a new large hard drive. I just downloaded added MPC-HC to my portable apps folder to replace a stand-alone portable version on a different partition.
When I opened this new player for the first time I was surprised to find that the playlist window was already open as it had been in the other player, and although I had to set up file associations, the custom key settings from the other player were also there. If these apps are portable I don't see how this is possible without copying the .ini file from the old to the new.
Any thoughts?

What is the trick to get PortableApps to use the Data directory?

The application keeps using:
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\

I want it to use:
\Data

Portable Mozilla Firefox 43.0.2 began to catch on my Windows 7 (x64) with messages "Shockwave Flash inactive" The previous version (Firefox 42) was OK. By checking the difference between the two versions, I found a new "Firefox (x64)" folder in the "App" folder that is inside the program. I deleted the (new) folder "Firefox (x64)" and Moxilla Firefox 43.0.2 now works great.

I use CDEx portable 1.7.9, in Win7 64bit, Japanese.
Converting CD to mp3 with Japanese title or tags, I have error. The converting is done, but editing tags isn't done with an error alert per every music.
Perhaps, CDEx Portable includes CDEx(Unicode).
In Japanese environment, we have to use CDEx(Multibyte).
In original CDEx installer, I can chose Unicode ver. / Multibyte ver.
I want also choose on CDEx portable Installer.

Need some help. I am presently stymied with trying to update one of my apps AquaSnap.

Author apparently added authenticode to his program. When I try to run it via launcher it will not load, same with Gord and even developer himself. However when he removes the authenticode all works as it was before and as expected.

So basically my questions is is the launcher checking and if so what is it checking? Otherwise I lost.

I'm writing a portable app for a game, but said game stores it's data in My Games in the Documents folder. To make said app portable I've got two choices if I have read the documentation correctly:

- Use [Enviroment] in launcher.ini to set the folder like this:
USERPROFILE=%PAL:DataDir%\1.0-alpha

- Use [DirectoriesMove] to move the folder to a subdirectory in /Data like this:
exampleggame=%DOCUMENTS%

Which of these two is typically used, and why?

I read through the "Creating A Portable App: A Guerilla Field Guide" post, but I still have some questions on how to go about making a portable app.

1. How do I clean install a program?
2. Is there anything I should know about making a program written in C++ portable?

My app require to write a key in:
HKLM\Software\Appname\Key

I write it with:
[RegistryKeys]
AppName=HKLM\Software\AppName

In a 32bit enviroment all is OK.
In a 64bit environment not work.
Because the launcher not store in:
HKLM\Software\Appname\
but only in
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Appname\

How can I solve?
