Firefox Portable

I was in options, and pressed a help button - Firefox Portable then opens a web page with information - however it didn't open in the existing version of Firefox but launched a new version - and I'm not sure if that was the portable version or not
(I don't have a version installed, but i'm assuming if you launch the browser without using the launcher things go wrong).

Is this a generally bad thing? Can things have been screwed up now?

When i click on my prtable firefox, it shows the firefox splash screen then nothing! I tdoesnt open or pop up any messages, everytime i click on the exe, it does the same thing. It started this for no reason, i didnt install anything new in firefox or on the usb chip!

is there anything i can do?? i have my firefox, backedup on my pc and even from there it doesnt open!

Is there any way i can at least save my bookmarks?

Even though, It's not a crucial issue for me, I'm really puzzled about the "Add New Toolbar" customization option failing to actually install one.

It only works half way. I can see a new bar being added initially, but after pressing the "Done" button, it just disappears.

Doing a search, I've found this post here: https://portableapps.com/node/762 , suggesting that the problem is usually caused by extensions. So, first, I played with my add-ons by disabling them all, eventually. That didn't solve the problem.

IE sucks.

I have a Bookmarks Toolbar Folder and find it very handy.

I was creating a new bookmark folder and clicked on Edit and accidentally clicked, "Set as Bookmarks Toolbar Folder." So now I have a new BTF which has replaced the old BTF.

How do I delete the new BTF? Right clicking to give properties works, but Delete is grayed out. If I click on Edit with the new BTF selected, Delete is grayed out.

How do I delete this?

Obviously, if you read any of a thousand post, there's no such thing as Portable Java but, most computers have Java on them so. I've found (and it may have been suggested before as well) that if you just copy and paste the right files from plugins (and possibly extensions as well) you can usually make java work on a computer that has java but, not IE.

FirefoxPortable 2.0.0.1 is installed on an external hard drive. I do not want it to update automatically to a new version of FirefoxPortable. I also do not want FirefoxPortable to connect to the internet.

First, I have modified several preferences in "about:config" to the following in order to prevent access to the internet:

(I type "about:config" in the address bar and type "proxy" in the "Find" box.)

(Preference Name, Status, Type, Value)
network.proxy.http, user set, string, 1
network.proxy.http_port, user set, integer, 8080
network.proxy.type, user set, integer, 1

I searched around a bit and found that to run multiple instances of firefox, the ini file is to be changed (and put in same directory as the portable exe file). I did this with the following line (changed from "=false" to "=true")

AllowMultipleInstances=true

But this still does not work !!!!!

Firefox was working fine yesterday. Today when I try to start I get an XULRunner error box that says:
Error:App:Name not specified in application.ini

I was goofing off with my FireFox Portable this morning, and discovered this:

You have to wait for the page to be converted via the companies' webpage, which kinda stinks, but if you need a PDF conversion in a pinch, it might be worth it.
