Block ALL new popup windows...

Submitted by pausername on August 23, 2012 - 4:00pm

So you know how some sites are getting around popup blockers by just spawning new windows (the ones without menubars ect...). Is there a way to disable ALL new windows from opening. I have NEVER seen a site that opens a legit new window, its always spam/adverts.

I poked around in about:flags but figured id ask here.

Thanks!

*I of course have the block popups setting checked in options, but that doesnt stop these windows (oddly enough, youd think it would).

Vista Specific Problems

Submitted by Lutherian on August 21, 2012 - 2:13pm

For years, portableapps and firefox has been such an amazing combination, I've been using it for years across linux and windows - working perfectly, and then oneday I had to use windows vista - crash bang!

My portable flash drive works perfectly on XP and linux, but not vista.

Background:
I launch from a batch file with a simple [firefox -P] command and then have a profile in a directory called [NuFox]
Out of habit, I always make my flash drive as [E:] So when I get to a windows machine I do this

E:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\firefox.exe -P

Portable Firefox, Flash problem

Submitted by Plaah007 on August 20, 2012 - 5:07am

I have installed the flash to portable Firefox and it works great on computers that don't have any flash. But the problem is that the computer I want to use it on has outdated Flash installed and I can't update it because I don't have administrator account. So when I try to open some game sites that need flash 10+, it opens and all seems to work great.. but after I press the Start button so that the game would start the flash freezes.

Any ideas what to do?

Profile Location? And can I install Firefox on Internal Hard drive?

Submitted by holygamer on August 16, 2012 - 7:46pm

When I had the non-portable Firefox installed I knew where the profile was but I can't seem to find where the profile is for Firefox portable.

Also, can I install Firefox portable on an internal hard drive?

If so, to save myself re-installing, can I just copy and paste my firefox portable directory off my flash drive anywhere onto my internal hard drive?
