Firefox Portable

There's something I don't like about ff 3.5.
You see, I usually copy a tab by dragging while holding Ctrl. This is useful when you don't want to leave a page but want to do something else on the same site, for example a search.
I suppose there are other ways to do that, but I was comfortable copying tabs the way I mentioned and now it's gone!
I'm sure that somebody knows how to fix it.

As explain in the title, I want to skip at the check or update for my addons or extensions.

In fact, I have no extensions on my FirefoxPortable but when some are installed on Firefox (1.5, 2.0 and more) on the PC where the FirefoxPortable is launching, it ask me to update my extensions.

Please help me.

I'm using FirefoxPortable and I have some trouble. In fact, I want to modify the localstore.rdf to have a special window size but it doesn't take in account.

Moreover, if I have a firefox (2.0 or 3.0) install on the PC and I launch my FirefoxPortable, FirefoxPortable ask me to update my extensions (I have no extensions in FirefoxPortable) and I would like to not have this question because it depends of all PCs and My firefoxPortable have to be the same.

this is what I have in my App/Firefox/defaults/pref/firefox.js

pref("app.update.auto", false);

I would like to block some adds that are annoying on some of the websites I go to. Normally I would just add the domain name to the HOST file and set the IP to 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0.1. I did this with FF Portable but the adds are still coming up. Is FFP accessing a different file or bypassing the hosts file all together?

Also, since I don't want to mess with someone elses computer settings can this be done within FFP's settings?

can anyone help me installing the shockwave plugin in ff portable

when i vist a shockwave games site it says not installed, but i have copied the shockwave files in to the plugins folder

I was running FF 3.0.11 I think, and I was having some issues with that version starting to lag. So I updated to the most recent version (3.5 I think) Now, no matter what version I have installed on my flash drive FF won't open. Everytime I attempt to open, it states that another version is already running. I konw that no other FF browsers are open, so I am not sure what to do?

I think I first noticed it in 3.0.10. It was in 3.0.11 for sure and it's in 3.5 as well.

The most common thing is I will be typing and the text will stop appearing on screen. I can keep typing, and after a few seconds, it will all spill out at once. It does this regularly, sometimes in every sentence I type.

Scrolling is similar, it's like it completely stops responding and I've got to wait for it to catch up. Sometimes it just goes completely unresponsive, and won't do anything until it's done doing whatever it is it's doing.

Im using the FF 3.0 Portable on a DVD to be executed on XP and Vista by autorun to give a seamless execution and easy feel of use.

The problem.

On some machines, when FFportable begins the window of "New Extension Installed" appears on screen, because it detected installed extensions on the machine ( like the Windows .NET assistant, Flash, java, whatever )

i was looking for ff portable 2.0.0.20 but i'm either blind or it can't be found on the download page? any ideas how to get it?
