Firefox Portable

So, I been having this weird issue with my portable firefox. When I start out a clean copy, nothing but all my usual profile information and extensions added, this size shows about 25 megs. Just to pre-empt, yes, I tried clearing my cache, and that didn't work. Anyhow, after browsing for a few hours and logging into a few sites, when I zip it back up, the size balloons by like 10 megs to 35! Any ideas?

I have convinced my friend to use PortableApps on his flash drive. Since its install he has had a continuous problem with Firefox. Almost every time he opens his web browser it does not show his bookmarks and I have to re-name the places.sqlite. I am then able to restore his bookmarks then everything is fine, until he closes the browser and it will start all over. I have tried removing Firefox and installing it but nothing is different. This is strange since I haven't had one issue with mine. He now has version 3.0.3 and it still acts the same.

I'm having trouble to install the Shockwave plugin. I've copied np32dsw.dll to \FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins and it actually appears in the plugins windows (Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in , version 11.0). But when i open a site which needs the plugin to run it just crashes firefox. If i install the plugin normally on the pc it works fine but what i wanted was to have it portable like i have the flash plugin, the wmp plugin...

Just for the record the page i'm trying to access is www.isketch.net and when i click on "play now" firefox crashes.

I'm not sure where to post this but I'd like to make a feature request.
Sometimes Firefox Portable refuses to start because there's a local copy of it runing on the machine. The problem is that some portable apps use firefox portable if it's installed instead of using the default browser.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to launch the webpage passed trough the parameters in the default browser on the machine or (If it's possible) in the local firefox installation.

I start FirefoxPortable.exe. Then I need to open URL from command line in this running Firefox.

If I run:
G:\Apps\FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\firefox.exe http://www.portableapps.com/
Then local Firefox is opened.

any chance we might start testing a FF portable setup where we could also have minefield the x64 FF version setup to use same personal data and bookmarks?

is there any indication that sharing like that might be possible?

basically my concern is, since we have here a portable FF we might be sometimes on a 32 bit operating system sometimes on 64 bit system, we would need to be able to share the bookmarks, passwords and such for this to make sense...

are there any plans regarding minefield?

For the first time after using Firefox Portable 3 since it came out, Firefox froze up and crashed now and when I try to start it up, I get the Mozilla Crash Reporter telling me that Firefox has crashed, When I press 'Restart Firefox' it starts another Mozilla Crash Reporter instance and Firefox never loads.

I am unable to fix this issue by overwriting Firefox with a new Firefox. I don't want to loose my profile, settings, bookmarks, extensions, history, cookies, passwords..

Please help!

And yes.. I did search and haven't found a resolution.

I know I can simply copy the contents of my portable profile to my pc, and my pc profile to my portable (But I have to delete a portable.ini when I do this right??) but what I wanna check is if in doing so this will will it affect the plugins setup? I mean if I have plugins life quicktime which I think cant yet be made portbale, will it affect my portable profile ie cause it to leave behind registry entries?

I installed FF3 on my USB drive and the splash screen gave me the option of clicking a setting that worked well with hard drives/fast USB drives and could be turned off for slow USB drives. It also said it could be turned off later and instructions were on the PortableApps site....which I can't find.

So what is it I turn off for FF3 to run better on slower drives and where do I find it? Thanks from a newbie.

Since I've been having massive problems with FF, I decided to give MozBackup a try. However, it says that I have a corrupt profile. I removed all traces of FF, reinstalled it fresh , and it still says I have a corrupt profile. I tried installing FF on my local drive instead of my USB drive, so I know it's not a USB drive problem. What is going on?

EDIT: I was able to use Toucan to backup my profile, so it's probably a MozBackup issue. Never mind.
