Firefox Portable

Can someone write a plugin that looks for the Java Portable installed on the USB drive? One could then use this, and disable the default Java plugin.

I'm sorry if this post should be in google's page, but i have tried FFportable 2 & 3 with google toolbar & in both the same problem: when i have an icon for a personalized search, it only appear in my firefox in the computer/partition I created the icon. Is anyone having this problem or know how to solve it?

Hi, frequently I use computers at my campus library, and for some reason they don't have the flash plugin for FF installed, and I am unable to install it myself due to lack of privileges. Not having flash is a nuisance and I am wondering if there is a way to attach flash to Portable Firefox? Thanks!

What if the PFF launcher checked say "C:\Programs Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" if its there and the same version as pff then launch it with the profile on the USB that way it would save the reading of the flash drive to only the profile(I have reg firefox installed but never use it it would be better it both could be launched at once form 2 different sources)

I am still running Firefox 2.0.0.16:
Ages ago (see https://portableapps.com/node/4589) [and probably referring to 2.0.0.8 or similar] I was able to report that during Firefox sessions there was "no usb activity whatsoever".

What could be the reason for FF3 to be extremely slow in different PCs in which FF 2 performs readily. I downloaded a fresh program with the same result. They have only 12 add-ons and are theme-less. Thanks in advance

At first I thought I was having a Foxmarks issue, but now I think I'm having general bookmark problems.

If I bookmark a page and just add it to the general default folder, it shows up in the Bookmarks dropdown, but it does not show up in Bookmarks --> Organize Bookmarks.

When I bookmark a page and choose the folder, it lists folders that aren't actually available anywhere else.

Regarding Foxmarks, I have tried to do a "Force overwrite of local bookmarks" but no bookmarks are added even though there are no errors in my Foxmarks log.

Recently, I'm having problems logging into and staying logged in to forums.

It started with the mozillazine forum which I could not see the "confirmation code" in FFP3.0.1 and only sometimes in IE7.

After installing the flash player correctly it seemed to work, but only once.

Now I'm having similar problems with other forums;
- hydrogenaudio forum it struggled to log in.
- freecommander forum does not stay logged in.
- mozillazine forum cannot log in.

My firefox portable seems to be running the plug ins from my computer installation of firefox. Is this safe? Is this normal?

is it possible to change the search area of the desktop google search?

It seems to be linked to the users location and i do not want to use google.se i would prefer google.co.uk!

Is there a way to set the default to what i require?
