Crashed Firefox Port App

Submitted by scoob on July 15, 2019 - 2:28pm

My old version of Firefox Portable App crashed; it asked to send a 'crush report' but the bottoms don't have characters below it; the crush message that comes up when I run the *.Exe file it said that if win try to restart and load my open tabs but, Nothing happened.
How can I get my Tabs Session back? I would like to update to the latest portable Firefox release but, I am afraid by doing so, I may override the possibility of getting my opened tabs from the previous time Firefox portable worked before, given me this error.
Thanks for any advice.

Firefox Portable Appdata/Roaming redirect

Submitted by BYDS on July 14, 2019 - 11:56pm

Hi all,

I'm not the most techiest person but am the go to at my workplace as I'm the youngest so apologies if this is a straightforward question.

There is a file that a Firefox extension pulls from AppData/Roaming. I am trying to get the Firefox Portable to pull from the USB instead from the computer, so a redirect of sorts. I thought this may be the answer https://portableapps.com/node/17637 but was not able to find any straight forward way to implement this.

Updating Firefox Portable makes it not portable?

Submitted by Esanik on July 12, 2019 - 3:03pm

Every time I start FF Portable 67, I get nagged that an update is available. As others have noted, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to stop this nagging. If you give in and let the auto updater update it, does the program retain its portable nature or does it become not portable anymore, writing to your system drive instead of only using the Portable folder?

I have an SSD that I am hoping to prevent from wearing out too soon, so don't want writes to my C: drive.

Files that can be safely deleted from a Firefox profile?

Hello Portable Apps family, Can you help me understand which files and folders can be safely deleted from a Firefox Portable profile manually from the "Data\profile" folder. Let's say that I created a Firefox Portable profile in a folder named "FirefoxPortable" and made all necessary changes I like and placed it in drive "D:"

ISSUE: Some extensions (example NoScript) will fail to move on first run after moving from one location to another in Firefox Portable 67.0.2. This is due to the reliance on a file called addonStartup.json.lz4 in the profile directory that stores full paths. This file is not portable.

Uninstalled an app which corrupted almost all extensions in Firefox Portable

Submitted by Kernel on June 12, 2019 - 1:15am

I'm running Firefox Portable Developer's Edition v67.0b19.

I uninstalled an app which normally inserts an extension into all browsers on the system, including Firefox. Normally, uninstalling this app causes those added extensions to be uninstalled, and all is well.

link in thunderbird portable opens new firefox session rather than using already opened session

Submitted by jim g on June 11, 2019 - 9:20am

A couple of updates ago, I don't remember exactly when it started, when I click on a link in an email from thunderbird portable, it opens a new version of firefox rather than using the currently open firefox session. What worse, it doesn't load any of the extensions.
This is on latest windows 10. The "choose a default browser" is set to firefox.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated as this has become more annoying each time.
