Possible Nightly Bug: Add-ons settings and content... not portable

Submitted by EstherM on March 3, 2019 - 11:47am

Hi,

First, thanks for this gem "PortableApps".

I would like to report a possible Bug at Firefox Nightly Portable 64-bits latest version, in Windows 10 latest version: Add-ons settings and content are not portable.

Installed add-ons may appear at Nightly' "about:addons" page, but add-ons are inaccessible, no settings, no contents.
Even inaccessible at "about:addons", sometimes installed add-ons work. But considering that they are inaccessible and add-ons also don't appear at NavBar, TabBar, Menus etc, it is impossible to use them.

Multiple instances of Firefox Portable on 1 stick?

Submitted by PortableMee on March 1, 2019 - 4:08am

Hi all,

Sorry if this has already been asked, I couldn't find it.
I need several social accounts to have the localized versions, and I therefore use proxies.
Would it be possible to have several installs of Firefox on a usb stick, each with the different proxy settings?

Thanks in advance for your advice

Firefox Portable and Windows 10 Notifications

Submitted by Rhor on February 16, 2019 - 1:27pm

Hello.

I am using Firefox Portable 65.0.1 on Windows 10 Pro.
Since Firefox 64, notifications coming from it can use the Action Center on Windows 10.
On the about:config page "alerts.useSystemBackend" can be set to "true" so Firefox will use the Action Center to show notifications.

On Firefox Portable however, it does not work, only on installed versions.

Anyone knows a way to make use of the Action Center on Portable versions?

Thank you.

Firefox overrides DNS settings?

Submitted by kml on February 11, 2019 - 6:43am

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out the DNS settings in Firefox. In theory it should take windows DNS settings, but I've found that it's not that simple.
I have an own DNS server with Blacklist ability, but after blacklisting certain domains FF still has an access to that pages. Chrome/IE/mobile browsers are without that access. Even using the nslookup I have blocked access, but FF works Sad

Firefox Portable Launcher leaves folder behind (v65)

Hello @all,
I just wanted to point out that since version 65 Firefox creates the folder "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Mozilla" (%systemdrive%\ProgramData\Mozilla\updates\...) - the launcher doesn't remove it.
I tried editing the source by adding (don't do this at home - it's only for me and the hard way!):
RMDir /r "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Mozilla\"
and elevating the privilegies via 'RequestExecutionLevel admin' - the script compiles without errors but the folder remains there after closing...

Two annoying features in Firefox Home page presentation

Submitted by fergus on January 17, 2019 - 2:34am

Sorry for tedious questions, I guess everybody knows this.
Just started using portable Firefox 64.0.2.
At the bottom of the screen there are two annoying rows
Upper of 2 reads "United Kingdom".
Lower of 2 reads "Advertising | Business" (two buttons).
Can I get rid of these?
Thank you!
Fergus
