Firefox Portable rev. 63 OR Update to 63 disables Firefox Portable

Submitted by markroussey on October 28, 2018 - 6:45pm

Hi all,

This is the 3rd time an update has wrecked my Firefox portable. After updating to version 63, it will no longer boot. Every time I try to start Firefox, I get "...firefox.exe - Application Error - The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application." I am using Windows 10.

So, I downloaded a new Firefox Portable install package - version 63 - installed it in a new directory - and the brand new version is also not working, same error.

Please make a portable package for Mozilla Firefox in Romanian.
In Romania, Mozilla Firefox is very often used as the main browser.
It's hard for me to install myself manually and look for ro.xpi, compatible with the latest version of Mozilla Firefox.
I use Mozilla Firefox Portable very often.
Please enter and Mozilla Firefox Portable in Romanian https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable#localizations.

Use of Firefoxportable 52.9.0 as a local install

Submitted by gris on October 11, 2018 - 1:51pm

I have installed Firefoxportable 52.9.0 on my computer hard disk on Windows 7. Besides running it portably via firefoxportable.exe, I sometimes start firefox.exe in FirefoxPortableLegacy52\App\Firefox and run it as if it were a local installation. FF created a profile folder in c:\users\[pc_names]\AppData\Roaming\.... I also set the Options, so FF is always run as default browser.

Cannot get jportable 7u51 to run correctly on FFPortable 48 without full Java 7u51 installed

Submitted by Mikko on September 25, 2018 - 12:39pm

Hi,
I've got several Windows 10 (v1803) 64bit machines where I've tried to run jPortable in Firefox Portable without success.
We have multiple legacy systems that require Java7 and specific versions of it on browser plugin, so to be able to connect, we've used FirefoxPortable 48 and jPortable 7u51.
I also have native Java8u171 installed on the systems.
I've used this same setup in Windows 7 SP1 64bit machines for years without any problems but with Windows10 I cannot get this to work.

Window position on second monitor shifts when reopened

Submitted by OsakaWebbie on September 17, 2018 - 4:44am

I have a Windows 10 laptop and an ultrawide (3440x1440) second monitor, and I scale both monitors to 125% for readability. I use PortableApps but don't "port" it - it's simply installed in a folder on my main drive. I have Firefox Quantum 62.0, Portable of course. I normally keep my Firefox window on the second monitor, and it used to happily open wherever it was when I closed it previously. One day that changed. Now, if it was closed while on that second monitor, it will reopen below and to the right of where it was when it closed (roughly 360 pixels down and 160 pixels to the right).

Hi all, hope you can help.

Firefox portable is not saving or caching my bookmarks and or browser history. Any ideas what could be causing this? Everytime I close and open it just opens a fresh Firefox.

Thanks for any help in advanced.

firefox portable crash

Submitted by figosound on August 28, 2018 - 10:58am

Hi everybody, I have a minor but very frustrating issue with my firefox. I have to use this portable USB stick in order to digitally sign documents, and it contains a preinstalled Firefox Portable which is the one I have to use because of certificates. Every time I put the stick in, I shut down the local Firefox installation, then I start the portable one, and here is the problem: EVERY time it crashes, sometimes just the tabs (The "gah - blablabla" error), often the whole application, and sometimes even the crash reporter.
