Import passwords into Portable Firefox?
How do I copy the passwords over to Portable Firefox from my laptop? I imported my bookmarks with no problems. I do not want to copy my entire profile over.

How do I copy the passwords over to Portable Firefox from my laptop? I imported my bookmarks with no problems. I do not want to copy my entire profile over.
on my home computer i was able to get the wanted harddrive bookmarks imported into the portable app on my usb drive. when i plugged the usb drive into the office computer i used pass2go to access PFF and the splash screen did not appear but FF did. pass2go wasnt working properly so i decided to open FF directly from the usb drive. got the splash screen and pass2go was then working properly, but my usb bookmarks are gone. did the harddrive access on the office computer overwrite my bookmarks?
thanks,
Just upgraded to 1.5.0.3 and found out that the customization is not be able to be saved. I picked small icon setting on the toolbar, but it kept resetting back to big icon. Any fix?
Another issue is I found out it is ignoring PortableFirefox.ini which I created and saved in the same directory with the exe.
When accessing the German Amazon Home Page (www.amazon.de) with PortableFirefox 1.5.03 none of the gif Pictures contained in the Page are shown, with the result that it is virtually unuseable. This also applies for the british Amazon WWW.Amazon.co.uk.
When calling the US Amazon (www.amazon.com) then the home page is displayed correctly with all included gifs.
Switching AdBlock on and off has no effect on the above described behaviour. The normal FireFox (non Portable) does not display the above effects it displays the German and UK Amazon correctly. The 2 FireFox versions are identical and have identical extension installed. Operating System is Windows XP German.
Hi all,
I've upgrated my portable Firefox to 1.5.0.3.
I've copied then my orig profile from the old version
into the new version within PortableFirefox\Data\profile.
Everything works fine (bookmarks, extensions...) except
my passwords - Firefox doesn't recognize my old passwords
anymore (I've copied the whole profile including signons.txt
and key3.db).
In case to post here this topic I had to register to this forum
and Firefox saved (after asking for it) my portableapps.com-forum
password without any problem - now I can see it under
'Options->Passwords->View Saved Passwords' as the only saved password.
If this is posted elsewhere I apologize, I was unable to find a solution. Transferring my local profile into Portable Firefox has never worked. At this point I understand there may be incompatible extensions, but ambiguous terms like "except cache directory" may be confusing me. I only see an extension.cache "file." Is there some specific file to file instructions, or possibly a diagram showing the correlating directory tree between local Firefox and the portable version, i.e. some way to match a particular local folder with its replacement portable version so I can copy my working profile? I recently downloaded the U3 version and need to know how to very carefully manipulate the two profiles.
why does the Portable Firefox open a "keyword:portable firefox" link automatically after started? And then take me to
"http://www.google.com/search?btnI=I%27m+Feeling+Lucky&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&...".That is "http://portablefirefox.mozdev.org/"
To be blunt:
Whenever I run portablefirefox, of course, the splash screen pops up. I don't like this. I find it very annoying. It does not waste a huge amount of my time, I just find it, y'know, annoying. Is there a version out there without the splash screen?
Or if not, I know it can't be changed from the about:config, and I know from previous topics on this forum that the entire installer would have to be recompiled or something from source.
I don't know much about computers. I don't want to spend three days figuring out how to do that. Could someone else who knows how to do something like this do this? Or, in future forms of portable firefox, could it just come without a splash screen like regular firefox?
Sorry if this has been asked already; I couldn't find it in the first few pages of this forum.
I would like to have multiple profiles, a clean one w/o any extensions for when I'm using the USB 1.1 computers in my school library, and the full one with all my extensions for everywhere else. I am thinking of having two PortableFirefox.ini files (obviously named differently) and specifying one based on what computer I am using.
Is there a way of specifying an .ini file for PortableFireFox.exe to use, using the command line? Could you perhaps drag-and-drop the .ini file onto the executable?
I customized my Portable Firefox, and it works very well with only one exception. I keep seeing "DOM Inspector" feature in "Tools" Menu. I do not want it, but I don't know how to get rid of it. Most the work I did were in browser.xul, and I did not see any reference to it in this file. When I deleted "inspector.jar" from my finished output (firefox\chrome\) folder, my application broke.
Any ideas?
