Is seperat eupgrade of enigmail/PGP OK?

Submitted by elsiemay on May 21, 2006 - 7:13am

This is a simple question, deliberately in two parts here to keep multiple posts minimized, even though the second question applies to all of the Haller-packed apps.

1. Specifically: is it safe to upgrade enigmail, for example from .93 to the current .94, and update the relevant files within the gpg directory? Or is it best to wait for the current PT with Enigmail, and the releavnt parts of the Portable Suite, to be updated with the new Enigmail by John? I ask because the Engimail site says that .94 includes many big fixes for PT 1.5.

2. The same question applied to all the other apps in the suite. If there are no code changes to the actual app in the Apps\Portable*AppName*\*appname* directory, is it safe to update these seperately?

rss open in html crash

Submitted by laurie on May 18, 2006 - 3:22pm

Hi

Thanks for these programs - love them.

I am having one prob since I changed from plain PTB to latest PTB+Enigmail. Now when I open an RSS topic with HTML enabled, it opens OK but if I interrupt the opening by prematurely closing the topic window, PTB crashes.

On this new installation, I have reduced the number of extensions previously used but have included 3 new extensions, "Mail tagger" and "xpunge" and "Toggle word wrap" as well as enigmail. I had installed lightning which is reported in mozillazine to cause some probs with rss but have uninstalled it.

This may be any number of reasons from my WinXPSP2 setup to the extensions etc but am posting here to see if anyone else has any ideas or experience of this prob.

Signature On Portable Device

Submitted by chriscolden on May 17, 2006 - 3:21pm

Hi,

I am trying to use a signature on my portable thunderbird, however when moving from computer to computer the drive letter may change and therefor the signature does not work.

As portable thunderbird does not save its own copy of the signature file, it just used the path to the file, I was woundering if any body knows of away around this. I'm guessing there is, as i'm pritty sure alot of the people who use portable thunderbird are also using a signature and I have not been able to find a post regarding the solution.

Thanks for your help.
