Is the latest beta coming as a portable version soon?
I am testing on my own home computer. The email setup I have used is exactly the same as my normal email client but...Tbird asks me for an SMTP password with an offer to save same. However, it just keeps on asking over and over again. Can anybody tell me why? The password provided is correct and correctly entered. I use Incredimail on one PC and Outlook Express on another and have previously used T/bird full version without difficulty.
First, a question: how much of a performance decrease am I going to see as old emails build up? At what point does that happen (i.e. when I have X megs of emails stored in my TB folders)? Second, is there an easy/safe way to archive my old emails?
I have 2 "installations" of Thunderbird Portable on two different drives - one for private & work and another for å club I'm running, all in all 17 different accounts. I would like to keep them separate, i.e. not having all of them in one instance of PTB, but when I have one instance open and try to start another, I get the message:
"Another instance of Thunderbird is already running. Please clos other instances of Thunderbird before launching Thunderbird Portable."
Is there any way to circumvent this?
Thankful for suggestions.

I could use some help setting up my Thunderbird mail system?
I'm new to this open source stuff, so please forgive me if I seem inept (Actually, I am)
What I'm trying to do is set Thunderbird up so that regardless of what system I happen to be using, I can simply plug in my Cruzer USB micro with Thunderbird and receive my email from several different email accounts.
When setting up my account I am not prompted to enter a password. I need to have a password entered so that I can connect to my sbcglobal.net account.
What am I missing?

With TBird portable and FFox portable, how long can one expect a usb thumb drive to last with a presumed imit or 100,000 write cycles?

Couldn't find an answer for this.
All my email accounts work in Thunderbird portable (when it finally launches), except for my hotmail account. I'm using the webmail extension, with the hotmail and gmail extensions. Gmail and my pop work fine, but when trying to check my hotmail, I get the following error:
"Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server localhost responded: negative vibes from myemailaddress@hotmail.com"
Anyone have any ideas how I can get this to work?
Thanks!
