mail merge

Submitted by lordmax on September 22, 2013 - 4:52pm

Hi to all

I'm using thunderbird 24 with extension mail merge 3.5.0

The problem is that nothing happens.

I have a set of well-formed csv file (already used some other times).
I checked that the variables are all correctly typed (they are only 3).

When I start mail merge the working window appear for a moment but then e-mails are not created.

I've looked at the error console and find this:

TB Portable crashes system to blue screen on 64-bit OSs

Submitted by klungkung on September 20, 2013 - 6:01pm

I was forced to move away from TB portable months ago because it kept crashing my system (Win7 64) every time I received mail (sometimes if there were only a couple of emails retrieved it would crash to blue screen when I tried to view the retrieved emails). Seems to have been a common problem as there was a lot about this happening on the net. Couldn't find any solution to stop it crashing. Moved to DreamMail which worked well. Now the European support site for DreamMail is closing up.

compose font doesn't change

Submitted by georg_m on September 11, 2013 - 5:20am

i changed my tb display font via options->display->formatting->fonts->advanced. according to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Font_settings_in_Thunderbird this should also affect the compose window.
but it doesn't: the main display window is changed to the font i want, but when i write a new mail or reply, the font in the compose window is still unchanged (some monospace, which i dont like.)
i also switched the html option of my accounts off, so i only send plain text.

GPG Portable vs TBird Portable

Submitted by DannyJr on August 13, 2013 - 7:44am

I am trying to integrate GPG Portable to my TBird Portable, but I keep getting the following error message:

http://tinypic.com/r/2a8kqyw/5

I am using the latest GPG Portable (1.4.13) and the latest TBird Portable [17.0.8]. I hope someone can help me fix this so that I can enjoy secure emailing everywhere (hello NSA staffer!).

Previous versions?

Submitted by Burma on August 11, 2013 - 4:08pm

Where can I find previous versions of Portable Thunderbird, for instance version 17.0.7? Sorry if this is answered elsewhere - I did do a search.

On the main Thunderbird Portable page, https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/thunderbird_portable, the "Other versions" link takes me to a page that does not seem to have a lot of versions including 17.0.7.

Adding Lightening extension to Thunderbird

Submitted by jojothehobo on July 22, 2013 - 5:53pm

Hi:
I have Mozilla Thunderbird installed on my PortableApps platform. It works fine as an email client. I set up my email client and it gave me a lot of useful options and control.

However, it is just an email program. There seems to be no way to add extensions like Lightening or do anything else. I must be missing something here and would appreciate it if someone can clarify why my application is so limited.
Thanks
Jojo

Usage of the IMAP protocol

Submitted by tapsklaps on July 14, 2013 - 11:15am

In another thread I reported from my problems, which me encountered during the usage of the IMAP protocol. In the meantime I searched for a solution regarding the handling of the IMAP protocol. For a better overview I have decided me for the creation of this new thread.

The following short tutorial should bring a little bit more enlightenment in the darkness of the IMAP protocol.

  1. Creation of a new email account
