Not delivered e-mails!

Submitted by lucsus on December 23, 2008 - 8:20am

Hi!
I have a problem with my TB. I have installed it on my Pen Drive (Kingston Data Traveler II - 512MB). The problem is, that many of e-mails sent using TB have been never received by recipients - there is no rules. I am sure that everything is OK, all POP3, SMTP data are correct... I have imported settings from my Outlook Express.
- all e-mails sent from Outlook Express have been delivered without any problems - very fast
- e-mails sent from TB are shown as "sent", without any errors,
- recipients do not have my e-mail in SPAM folder,

slow start (again)

To day I had one of those events where the PTB takes alsmost for ever to start and fills the ram with ????.
I was not using any external apps for attachments etc.
I had custom setting in the attachment handling for jpg, doc, and pdf , all pointing to portable software on the same stick.

Incidently, I had just also the folder on the windows explorer where the PTB is located open. I could from here see that the mimetypes was just incrementing in size, starting from its few kb to over 500mb. During that time nothing happend otherwise, the PC was quite 'frozen'.

Mail sent from Outlook goes to inbox on Thunderbird on same account

Submitted by inlandsurfer1 on December 19, 2008 - 2:18am

Because I have to connect with my blackberry as well as do a few other things at work, i have to use both Outlook and Thunderbird portable (which is way faster). Whenever I send an email from outlook I see it as new received mail in my inbox (for the same account) instead of the sent box in Thunderbird. How do I fix this?

TBP - Password

Submitted by ggrosser on December 18, 2008 - 2:41pm

Is there anyway to set up Thunderbird where you can't read existing mail that is in the program with out the password being entered.

Basically, when I click on TBP, I had it set to where I had to enter my password every time I opened Thunderbird. Earlier I was wondering what happens if you click on cancel and you don't enter the password, could someone still read the existing email that has already been downloaded. I found out that it doesn't block you from see current email, it just won't download new email.

Thanks!

Multiple Instances of TB

OK, this post may look a bit strange as I figured out a solution as I was typing up my problem. I will however leave the question below (and it's solution) for those who also may want to do what I did.... Read on....

I am able to run multiple instances of TB on my main windows machine by setting the environment variable MOZ_NO_REMOTE to 1. As long as I use separate profiles, everything is OK. Here is the problem.
