Download is incomplete or corrupted

Submitted by briguy is I on December 29, 2008 - 2:35am

Someone has said that the download link for this software has been fixed. I just tried the download and my download did not complete successfully. I have tried this download several times and every time I try, the download always comes up incomplete. The file size varies eachtime I download the software and it is never completed or is corrupted.

Please fix this issue.

UPX compression of OpenOffice.org 3

Submitted by GrzegorzJZD on December 27, 2008 - 10:06am

Hi

I'd like to know if OpenOfficePortable contains UPX-compressed or normal version of OpenOffice.org 3.

I tried to compress polish language version of OOo3 and put it under OpenOfficePortable/App/openoffice, but after packing it with UPX using PortableApps Compressor, it is no longer starting. No error dialogs appears, but also not working.

I really need to compress it, cause it is to large to store it on small thumbs.

Any ideas what could get wrong and hot to fix it?

Impress 3.0 very slow to load large file when run from USB flash drive

Submitted by Billk on December 21, 2008 - 2:37pm

Hi
Impress 2.4 works fine but version 3.0 takes 11 mins to open a very large (107MB) presentation when I run it from my flash drive (USB2 WinXP) and it then runs unacceptably slowly. It's OK if I copy the Open office folder to my hard drive and run it from there, but version 2.4 is very slick wherever I install it. It's the same on both my desktop and my laptop.
Anyone else had this problem or found a workaround?
Bill

No link to OOo Selector in PA Menu

Submitted by Suavek on December 21, 2008 - 8:43am

Hi!
I've just installed OpenOffice Portable 3.0. There are six shortcuts in PortableApps Menu (one for each app of the suit) but there is not shortcut for OpenOffice Selector. There is a seventh file - OpenOfficePortable.exe in OpenOfficePortable folder, but PA Menu doesn't show it. How can I make PA to show this file in menu?

Slow context menu

Submitted by Luisef on December 20, 2008 - 1:44pm

I
Congratulations on this new application.
Is there any problem on having the portable version and the installation version in the same PC (Win XP)? I have the two versions of OO3, one in HDD c:\, and the portable in HDD e:\. Since I'm using the portable one, the context menus (in writer, Impress, Clac...) take a long time to open in both versions. Why?
In "installation" of 0O 3 Portable I've chose "import definitions" and follow the instructions to make the version portable a portuguese-pt one by copying the files.

Portability Issue with Windows XP

Submitted by donleavy on December 20, 2008 - 3:51am

First may I congratulate the developers on a cracking release.

I (finally) installed this product with no problems and it ran just fine.

I failed the first time because although the completion window popped up the install was not complete due to the lack of shortcuts to the program/s.

My major problem came when I tried to drag'n'drop the 'OpenOfficePortable' folder to another location.

Windows complained that one or more of the paths was too long and could not complete the copy.

OpenOffice cannot start on Vista32sp1. Only till splashh screen.

I tried right click menu "Run As Administrator" item.
And I tried to launch "\PortableApps\OpenOfficePortable\App\openoffice\program\soffice.exe" also.
I tried both 3.0 and 2.4 versions.
Any OpenOffice App.

But all another Apps work fine.

The picture is the same.
