Avast Antivirus says Iobit Uninstaller Portable update is infected with FileRepMetagen [Malware] and blocks installation.

Avast Antivirus says Iobit Uninstaller Portable update is infected with
FileRepMetagen [Malware] and blocks installation. All other programs are fine.

Iobit has a browser add-on which is problematic, and Avast is pretty reliable.

If this is a standard issue Iobit should probably be not be part of the whole set-up.

Waterfox Portable not recognizing Java64 portable

Submitted by johnny808 on May 4, 2015 - 10:09pm

I've been trying to find a solution to get Waterfox Portable to recognize Java64 portable.

Java64 is at the default location in CommonFiles\Java64

Waterfox portable was installed with the .paf installer. So, everything is at default location. I just can't figure out how to get Waterfox to recognize Java64.

FirefoxPortable finds Java in CommonFiles\Java without any problems.

What was done to the FirefoxPortable launcher that wasn't done to the WaterfoxPortable launcher?

QupZilla settings getting overridden

Submitted by Wm ... on May 4, 2015 - 12:55pm

I'll say right up front that I'm not sure if this is a PA issue or an issue that I should raise with my favourite lightweight browser folk.

If QupZilla portable is the default browser and gets called by another prog it appears to forget that it is a PA.

The parallel with the much better understood FF is that a new profile gets created e.g.
C:\Users\ABC\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XYZ.default
which can safely be deleted and the next time FF is started one has one's PA FF profile in use again.
