LibreCad Portable 2.0.0

Submitted by francescortiz on January 18, 2014 - 3:42pm

I find a little bug in a config file of this version.

When I see de Library I can see two images of the same file.

I find a solution modifiying the file LibreCadPortable.ini at Launch directory.

The solution is very easy: erase the text into the value of the key "Library". Leting it as the next:

[FileWrite6]
File=%PAL:DataDir%\settings\LibreCADPortable.reg
Type=INI
Section=HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\LibreCAD\/LibreCAD\Paths
Key='"Library"'
Value=''

I hope that helps you.

Portable Ghostscript path in Portable scribus

Submitted by new.user on January 17, 2014 - 7:35pm

I have been unable to get Portable scribus to save the path to Portable Ghostscript. Both are installed outside the Platform, and maybe that's the only way it will work, but I would like to get it work without the Platform.

Actually, the same applies for the image editor. Pscribus seems to be hardcoded for Portable gimp, which I neither have nor need.

Where is the preference file saved, or how can I force Portable scribus to save the path to gswin64c.exe?

Thanks in advance,
new.user

Notepad++ installation folders-castrative behaviour

Submitted by ARPcPro on January 7, 2014 - 8:49am

I really appreciate the portable apps for the freedom is gives us and I respect the work of the developers. It saves me some time when I need to format my PC because I can just copy programs from the old installation to the new one directly.
Really hate when apps spread their files all over the disk, some pieces at program files, some pieces at appdata and the remaining on some obscure temporary folder.

Now I formatted the PC and decided to upgrade my portable notepad++ to the latest version and it I noticed the app is restricted!

Skype Portable update confusion

Submitted by OsakaWebbie on January 7, 2014 - 7:19am

I had (well, still have) Skype Portable 6.10.0.104. It was nagging me to upgrade, but I always let PortableApps upgrade the apps, so I ignored Skype's request at first. But PortableApps's Apps->Check For Updates did not report Skype as being one of the apps that needed updating.

After a while I couldn't stand it anymore, so I let Skype do what it wanted to do. Unfortunately it installed a fresh copy of Skype (not Portable) 6.11.0.102, which of course is not what I wanted. So now I have both.
