If this is portable then why would it appear in Add/Remove programs?

I'm using the latest uTorrent portable program.

I maybe missing a topic for this but I haven't seen anything for Blender. I try to open it and it gives me a gray background but it fails to open. Anyone experiencing something like this?

I'm using uTorrentPortable_3.3.2.30260_online.paf.exe stand-alone (i.e. without the "PortableApps.com Suite") on WinXP 32 bit Home Edition, on an account without administrative rights.

Upon "installation" of that version, following "current user" autostart entry is created:

I've just installed PortableApps and installed Skype from that.

Is this window normal? The Skype logo is not showing and when I move the mouse over the "Sign me in when Skype starts" link nothing happens so I can't click that link.

Anyway when I sign in I can close Skype from the tray. When I load it again it logs in automatically. However when I restart Windows it asks me to sign in and none of the details are prefilled.

Since version 5.22 the default language setting in FreeFileSyncseems to be Czech. I can change manually to another language (and save configuration), but next time it starts in Czech again. Any idea how to solve this? The reply from FreeFileSync makers is: "Ah, you're using an unofficial release of FreeFileSync from PortableApps. You should ask for support on their forums, since the problem is likely due to whatever modifications they apply." I use version 5.23 now.
Any idea on how to proceed here?

First of all, PAc is AMAZING. Soon I will be able to travel not with a laptop anymore, but only with a USB stick - almost everything I need is on it now, and still in less than 2GB. Also great at home, because I am working with several computers, and the USBkey home of my main apps is ... just perfect.

Now to my request:

Tried updating both apps via Platform updater both had download failures. Manually went to each download and downloaded ok. Went to install each and they both error out with write errors. I then ran each as administrator and both installed properly.

Win 8 64 bit all updates writing to a 250gb usb HD 125 as linux partition and 125 for PortableApps. Vipre Internet Security 2013. In fact on the Maxthon I even had to allow it past the Windows nag screen about allowing it. I have full uac control in fact even to point the UAC is sett o low

Hello there,

For performance reasons I prefer to run Chrome locally. Thus I set RunLocally=true in GoogleChromePortable.ini.

However, having Chrome closed, I never know when the moving data back to the portable drive has finished. Sometimes this results in data loss.

So, my question, how do I know that the moving data back to the USB drive process has actually finished before unplugging my drive and therefore risking data loss?

After installing Ekiga via the PA menu / updates I tried running it to no avail. All I get is the splash screen and nothing else opens. Is this the expected behavior? Am I doing something wrong? Do you think I should uninstall and then re-install again?
