SeaMonkey 2.39 update

Submitted by ZehHa on November 11, 2015 - 4:28am

Hello John,

thanks for the quick portabilisation of the new SeaMonkey release. You have been even faster than the German SeaMonkey support team that doesn't say anything about release 2.39 on it's website.

But: After the automatic PortableApps platform update, SeaMonkey's "about:" window still tells 2.38. None of the extensions (particularly Lightning) complains about a new version. Looks like the PortableApps "update" version still is 2.38 by mistake.

Manually installing the PAF package downloaded from you website worked fine, I finally got SeaMonkey Portable 2.39.

Chrome vs TLS (https) vulnerabilities

Firefox permits you to protect yourself from recently disclosed vulnerability in 1024-bit Diffie-Hellman encryption by changing parameters from within Firefox, but Chrome doesn't. The only method I see to get this protection in Chrome on Windows, tested with 46.0.2490.71 under Windows 7, is to right-click the Chrome shortcut, click "properties" and then add this to the end of the target:

--cipher-suite-blacklist=0x0033,0x0039,0x009E,0xcc15

How does one do this within PortableApps?

Update YUMI on the flash drive, add and remove ISOs

Submitted by trust on October 26, 2015 - 7:11am

I know it's not the YUMI support forum (they actually don't have one) but I have to ask it somewhere, you guys may actually have seen the inner workings of this software:

1. How do I add, remove or update ISOs (add never versions of the same distro) on the USB flash drive?

2. How do I update YUMI itself on the same USB flash drive already populated with ISOs?

Opera Portable Not Saving Settings

Submitted by drgolf on October 16, 2015 - 2:26pm

I've been using Firefox Portable for several years. Due to performance issues (speed and Flash problems) I'm looking at switching to Opera Portable. I don't run the portable browsers from a USB drive but I install the portable version on the C:\ drive in the Documents folder under my profile (work PC). Half the time when I'm using Opera portable it doesn't save my profile settings when closing the browser. I'll reopen Opera Portable and all the Speed Dial modifications are gone. All the Bookmarks are gone.
