[Closed] jPortable 8 u66, 32 bits, not working with Firefox Portable 43.0.1

Submitted by PericoPalotes on December 21, 2015 - 10:46pm

jPortable 8 u66, 32 bits, works with FF 35 but not with FF 43.0.1.

- The CommonFiles directory is at the same level as FF 35 and FF 43.
- The add-ons tab in FF 35 shows Java 8 but FF 43 does not.
- FF 35 does not need any changes in the Java Control Panel inside jPortable but I gave it a try and it did not solve the problem.
- I created the preference dom.ipc.plugins.java.enabled in about config for FF 43 and set it to both true and false and this didn't solve the problem, either.

Can anyone tell me what is going on?

[Closed] New workrave 1.10 is available on PortableApps, but Updater doesn't see it

Submitted by akach on December 21, 2015 - 6:18am

I have PortableApps.com platform 12.2 and have WorkravePortable 1.9.4 installed.
When I choose an option "Проверить обновления" ("Check updates" in Russian) in PortableApps shell, it doesn't see that there's an updated version of WorkravePortable available and doesn't offer me to update WorkravePortable like it does for other apps. But there is actually newer 1.10 version: https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/workrave_portable

[Fixed] Sigil now supports an environment variable eliminating the need to move the directory locally

Submitted by Eli Schwartz on December 20, 2015 - 10:34am

Well, I see Sigil 0.9.2 is actually listed here as needing an update.

Do note that you can now set the configuration directory of Sigil via the env var "SIGIL_PREFS_DIR".

This is new in 0.9.2, probably a lot better than copying to/from %APPDATA% Smile

[Mod note: This isn't technically a bug, but moving the comment to a post this way allows us to more easily track it.]

Problems with Opera, after 34.0.2036.25 update

Submitted by Frunobulax on December 9, 2015 - 6:41pm

Hi there,

I use Windows 8.1
Opera Portable is a portable app I use a lot, but I guess something went wrong with their latest update.
I save all open tabs from some websites in Speed Dial Folders, there are 41 folders at the moment.
On right click there are more options now, and "Open all" is now "Open all in new tabs".
Before it opened with some delay up to 40+ tabs.
Now it comes with a warning with 10 tabs, and after "OK" it just freezes.
There's no sudden increase in CPU or Memory use, it just freezes.

Error using poratable apps Foxit Reader 7.2.2.929

Submitted by sweetnuttin on December 2, 2015 - 11:51pm

PC is a Toshiba laptop, running win 7 sp1.

When using Foxit, I keep getting 'Internal Application Error' when just switching between 'tabs' in Foxit, or when trying to click on file tab to save or print a pdf.

Other times it gives major error and crashes!! I can only close pgm and have to start over!

WinSCPPortable Can't Change PuTTY/terminal client path

Submitted by Jersh on November 22, 2015 - 10:12pm

I can't change the setting for PuTTY/terminal client path in WinSCPPortable. I want to do it point it to PuTTYPortable.exe, but after reopening WinSCPPortable, the setting is overwritten. I don't like the linker program because it requires PuTTY to be running already but PuTTYPortable.exe does not.

My directory structure is:

Opera v33.0.1990.58 and Flash Player

Submitted by clarkpd6 on November 18, 2015 - 9:07am

How do I install Adobe Flash Player in Opera v33.0.1990.58 installed on a USB so that websites that have flash content is displayed.

I have followed the suggestions on the Web to install Adobe Flash Player, but all refer to older versions of Opera PortableApps where there is Plugins directory. In the default install of Opera v33.0.1990.58 in PortableApps there is no Plugins directory.

Any assistance much appreciated.
