Other Apps Support (Deprecated)

I have users that require Java 6u26 to access an on-site server application. I've fought for years to get the server app updated to reduce security vulnerability, but apparently budget trumps best-practice every time.

A few days ago, some of these users found themselves unable to access an external website they need unless they update to a newer Java version. Inside, I'm clapping and cheering that this day is finally here, but on the outside, it falls on me to figure out a solution.

My computer is not able to run Chrome versions newer than 34 (processor incompatibility).
I've been using Chrome 34 as portable app with great success for years, but after an accident
just lost my hard disk, so need to reinstall.

I have installed the up-to-date Portable Chrome from thus site - as expected, Chrome 45 crashes
at launch (they aren't even capable of testing and noticing my proc can't do SSE2 !)

Issue

Whenever I click on the "Map View" tab at the bottom of the sidepanel, and select "OpenStreetMap", all I get is a big, light-blue sphere. I get no labels except for the standard graticular labels. No different whether I'm zoomed out or in.

Specs

This is actually the old windows api limitation that paths over 256 chars (if i remember correctly) are not supported.
But thats ancient stuff and windows got an api that supports 32k long paths for many years and apps like 7zip and so on use that one.
Seems that the nsis installer version you are using does not, therefore, apps with longs paths (like most nodejs apps that have node_modules within node_modules and so on....) fail.

I think everything is on the title. Upon installing 2.6.7 there are no locales available others than en available at %PORTABLE_APPS%\GnucashPortable\App\GnuCash\share\locale. It contradicts the instructions at https://portableapps.com/news/2015-07-07--gnucash-portable-2.6.7-released .

Does anybody know, whether InfraRecorderPortable 0.53.0.0 is able to write on M-discs? My Samsung USB-DVD-Drive has the M-disc Logo!

I am encountering an issue... I am using the portable Google Chrome and when I upgrade to GoogleChromePortable64_45.0.2454.85 and the launch when it is finished, it crashes immediately. Fresh install on this version does the same. Reinstall to 44.0.2403.157 and it works fine. Upgrade to 45 fails immediately on launch. I tried the experimental 64bit version and it works fine. I am at a loss... Other updates in the past have had no issue. Advice? Thoughts?

Geany has recently updated to 1.25, so will a portable version become available?

Lately BPBible has not been running; I've been getting the following reason:

Jportable don't see previous version (.jar launched though jportable launcher) works while update process.
It breaks running apps, they can't start again and jportable marks as updated, so I can not run update again.

However removing jportable dirs and reinstall them resolve my issue.
