Can't resize the "Open" Window When Picking PAF file to Install

Submitted by JJohn22 on April 25, 2022 - 5:56pm

Hi,

When I Click on Apps, then Install a New App, the window that opens to let me pick a file is always full screen. I can not make it any smaller. Is there something I am overlooking to shrink the window size, or is being full sized part of the design?
I don't believe that this was true in earlier versions of the platform.

Unable to download updates

Submitted by PortableGood on April 11, 2022 - 9:50pm

Hi John,

I just want to let you know that update downloads aren't working right now.

Error from the PortableApps.com Platform is "Unable to download the file. This could be due to a proxy or network issue or the hosting server not permitting downloads from your location."

It's not working for me, or 2 friends.

Probably a temporary issue, but I thought you might appreciate knowing.

[Closed] .NET detection broken in 21.2.0 platform update

Submitted by artibyrd on March 26, 2022 - 6:38pm

Duplicate of: https://portableapps.com/node/66012

I had an update to v 21.2.0 of the PortableApps platform today, and since that update any portable app that I have that requires .NET to run now comes up with a message that "This application requires .NET installed on the local PC to run". This message takes me to a PortableApps page to download a version of .NET, which then tells me I already have .NET installed when I try to run it.

Your thoughts on improving locale support and adjust where to spend our build time?

You may have noticed that platform, NSIS, and PA.c Installer releases have been adding languages at a fast pace lately. The platform now supports 80 locales (all complete translations) and the installer and NSIS support 86. I've been working to improve the worldwide availability of our work as much as possible. To that end, I'm looking at increasing the number of languages supported by Firefox and Thunderbird. Unfortunately, build times are quite long.
