Interest in Windows on ARM / ARM versions of apps?

I was wondering if there's any interest in ARM versions of apps being included in bundles where it is low impact. These would be for Windows 10/11 on ARM devices like the Microsoft Surface Pro X, Samsung Galaxy Book Go/S, Lenovo Flex 5G, HP Elite Folio, etc as well as for folks daring enough to get Windows on ARM running on the Mac M1/M2 machines. This would only affect a handful of apps like CrystalDiskInfo/Mark, Sysinternals utilities, 7-Zip, etc and only when it makes sense size wise in relation to performance.

Is there a way to tell on this website if an app requires an admin access token/rights?

Some portable apps run fine with standard user accounts like putty. But wincdemu has a uac admin credential popup to allow "this app [from an untrusted publisher] to make changes of your device."

For apps like that, it would be useful to know, have them tagged, and be able to filter by that attribute.

I tried to run some of these apps with the runasinvoker command, but they usually require drivers or something so they can't be ran as a standard user.

[Closed] Update Explorer++ Portable 1.3.5 to 1.4.0 Beta

Submitted by alanb on September 8, 2022 - 10:42am

I have been having repeated crashes with Explorer++ Portable 1.3.5. I contacted the developer who said "I no longer investigate any issues specific to 1.3.5. If the crashes occur in the latest development build, please send through a crash dump."

The development build is 1.4.0. It is marked as a beta, but is the only version supported. https://explorerplusplus.com/download.

I feel that 1.4.0 should be used as the current portable version as version 1.3.5 has been depreciated.

Thank you.

Ordinary apps (on PC) UPDATE ... and PAF updater

Submitted by RPS.zzz on August 29, 2022 - 11:54am

PAF updater is really great for updating all Portable Apps Format one is using ... (I just love it ... Firefox, Thunderbird, LibreOffice, and many other apps, I just use them in PAF ... )
Why not make PAF updater work for of all the apps installed, even those installed on C as non portable apps ?
At least provide a list of all the apps NOT IN PAF installation one has to update ?
Then,
a) Windows system would be updated as everyone knows,
b) PAF apps ... the easiest way to update apps (and thank you really really, but really much for it)
