Once upon a time Google (now Alphabet) stated: Don't be evil.
...
Now, they have become a scannerware...
In the name of security, they are scanning your hardware by multiple ways.
Not only that, the browser scanns your system by all installed software.
Sending this information encrypted to their base.
Just think of it... why can't I just get my portable Chrome on a USB-stick to
another computer and go along with it, and continue to work?
It used to be that I could update my portable apps with my VPN tuned on.
Now it stops in the middle of a download indicating a "proxy error", probably due to the VPN being turned on. I turn the VPN off and it updates normally.
Why should I have to turn my VPN off now? Don't you all respect privacy, anymore?
It appears that our revenue from AdSense was halted sometime this month. This appears to coincide with AdSense halting monetization of sites that glorify or exploit the war in Ukraine. This is devastating to the stability of the project as AdSense is the primary revenue source supporting it. I'm investigating with Google and will report back as I have news.
With the release of qBittorrent v4.4.0, v4.4.1 & v4.4.2 portable I have noticed that the program will randomly lock up and become unresponsive.
The lack of response will last from 2 to 30 seconds or so, but will eventually return to normal after that time.
This is not caused by excessive CPU usage by other programs or such and returning to v4.3.9 solves the issue completely.
Does anyone have any idea what the issue with these releases might be?
TIA

Can't download McAfee Stinger Portable 12.2.0.424
Tried Windows XP and Windows 8.1.
When try to download the paf, get this error:
The requested URL was not found on this server.
When try to install through Platform, get this error:
File not found (Error 404)
Is there a setting that will allow the platform to close instead of minimizing to the systray?
It seems the sounds on button doesn't work because there's no audio files? (there is on the web version and hosted on ADR's github)
I am wondering (when using an older, slower computer) if it would be better to use the default, installed media viewer, or the portable VLC that I have on my USB drive--not in terms of graphic performance and the quality of the display, but in terms of slowing down the old computer itself.
When I am working on an older, slower computer, I am a bit conscious about not slowing down the computer to the point of it freezing up or something like that.
I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post my question in.
I am receiving the error "Call to a member function get() on null" when using the following download links from the portableapps.com respective app pages:
