Why not just have a ZIP or RAR or 7ZIP archive, which you extract and then run the app?
Why an .exe file?
It seems like this is all the installer does... am I wrong?
Hello All! We at the Binary Bums have a new project we have been working on called Cameo. It aims to be a portable desktop environment based on a customized bbLean shell and utilizing portable apps so you can have your favorite desktop environment with your favorite apps anywhere you go. It currently is in stage two of beta development. To visit the Cameo website [link removed by mod JTH for trademark, open source licensing violations].
on insertion my U3 Drive is asking for a password. When will this feature be available at portableApps?

PENGANTAR
I just noticed, in referencing OSI-compatible licenses, that the OSI Certified link is outdated. This link would presumably be clicked on by someone who wants to know what OSI certification means, but it just drops them on the latest meeting minutes, which I am sure is not the intended action. Rather, I propose the links all be updated to point to this page, as it outlines what software must be to earn OSI certification, and I imagine this or one like it is what was originally linked.
Why the new installer icons are becoming all the same? Isn't it better that each installer icon use the old system where they used to use the original icon!
all those 15 applications below are outdated as of today not including betas and release candidates....

my flash drive crashed and burned the other night. lost 1GB of info.
i bought a u3 enabled flashdrive. i realize u3 has some free apps but does charges mostly for theirs. i support open source free software such as portableapps. my question is this.1 should i just leave u3 enabled on my flash and download free stuff. 2. or should i disable it? and if so, how do i do that? do i need to go buy another flashdrive? 3.can i use portable apps on a u3 enabled sandisk?
pros/cons/opinions solicited. thanks.
