Hitman Pro

Submitted by sabot7726 on December 1, 2006 - 8:01am

Well I did a search and didn't see this one being discussed yet.

Hitman Pro is an anti-spyware program which automatically downloads and runs a few popular other anti-spyware programs such as spybot, ad-aware etc. It's basically just an AutoIT script and a folder for the programs.

I've copied it over to my thumbdrive and it works 99% already, but I think its writing to the registry so its not portable yet. I have to doublecheck the setup prior to running it on a new machine still. I'd rather set it up once, have the file on my thumbdrive and never have to worry about it again.

I saw in some other posts that its best if the software in question is open source, which this is not. It's freeware however and the author makes himself available, how does one go about getting permission? Is there a standard thing to ask?

I don't know any app such as this one freeware.
If any exist, it would be a good idea to make it portable (my point of view :p)
Anyway, good job since then, though i find my usb key a bit slow now ...
Maybe because it's the one i was given by my school Blum

there should be some apps for security, like a file shredder, spyware protection, adware protection, and a portable firewall (so when you use someone elses computer they cannot blame you for being hijacked) etc. they would make security easier.

the startrek encyclopedia

I own the startrek encyclopedia 3.0 by Simon & Shuster interactive inc.
I merge the 2 main cd's and the 2 companion extra cd in one DVD so at least I dont
have anymore to swap cd's. What would be great is if some one can modify the prog.
to have it to look inside it's hown directory instead of a cd rom drive. That way we could put everything on a usb drive that would take a little more or less than 2G
depending if you decide to include or not the companion cd's the main 2 cd's would take close to 1G.personaly I would willing to bring that with me.
the main app prog is a macromedia director player, if any one would be interested
