Just wondering if anyone is working on a portable MSysGit. They do have a "portable version" on their website (http://code.google.com/p/msysgit/) but I've found it needs a little work to make it use a home directory on your USB flash drive instead of your Windows home directory.

Wouldn't to be useful to have Jdk with you where ever you go?
Is it possible to make Java Jdk portable?
It would be useful if the portableapps platform could download and update apps itself. The apps should be digitally signed, and the platform app would download and verify the signature. It would be desirable if multiple versions of the same app could be installed, so new versions could be tested somewhat safely.
Gpredict is a satellite tracking program for free amateur radio communication using amsat satellites and the International Space Station amateur transponder and radio BBS. Somebody with a walkie-talkie type radio can access these satellites if they can make or bring along a portable yaggi antenna.
Travelers might not have their own computer or PDA but do have the radio gear. It would be nice when at a hostel to plug in a usb drive and track or print out the days satellite passes. The satellite passes only last around 10-15 minutes and are hard to predict without a program.
I would like to see a portable launcher for Sim City 2000. It is a pain in the ass to install and get working in linux. Also the 1.2 Patch wont install on Vista. A portable Launcher would be greatly appreciated.

Why not just use Lin-City NG?
It would be nice if this was a Portable App
Thank you
It would be very nice if there would be portable version of X-Chat 2, lightweight and easy to use IRC chat application.
It's open-source, but official Windows build is shareware - but that's not a problem,
there are free unofficial Windows builds, which have exactly same features (except graphical smileys :D) - http://www.silverex.org/news/
It also doesn't uses registry, so I believe it would be easy to make portable version of it.
