Autorun Nice Launcher

Is there a portable app that could be setup to automatically launch and have a nice interface to launch applications on the flash drive? At the current time, I have to dig into the Program Files folder on my flash drive and it is quite a hassle. Something that would popup with a nice background and an editable list of items would be great. The problem with adding shortcuts on my flash drive is that the drive letter of my flash drive changes from time to time and the shortcuts break, then.

Thanks!

Is it possible to run this from a portable drive.
I am looking into using my portable hard drive as my system but do not want to install Virtual PC 2004 on all the machines I may use. If this program could be ran from a portable drive then I would be able to use it with out software installation.....

HTMLKit

Unfortunately, I am unable (or unwilling) to conform to Portable NVU for my coding. My current personal pref is HTMLKit by Chami (www.chami.com), which would be great to have portable, but any other editor suggestions that might be closer to HTMLKit than NVU might be acceptable, too.

TIA

TextPad

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on April 26, 2006 - 2:16pm

I use text editors a lot, and the one I use more often then not is TextPad. The problem with it is that it was never made to be used on a FlashDrive, and so I always lose my settings.

I don't know if it can be done, as its a program that has to be purchased, but they do have a free version.

Fast Usb Filemanager

Submitted by Beano on April 24, 2006 - 10:59pm

Most flash drives won't handle many files at once, installing. When you install any file 5mb can take 8 mins if it has a lot of files. If one by one is installing the install process would go much faster like in seconds. I hope somebody could come up with a program that would be like a file manager for usb devices, but would install files one by one.

Portable Filetypes?

Submitted by dyce on April 24, 2006 - 2:03am

can someone make an app that sets which files are opened with what on the portable usb? like i have photoshop, and i want to open some image file, but first of all, after plugging in my usb, i run the filetype thing and then just click on the file and it opens with the photoshop on my usb drive. then before ejecting, it resets the filetypes back to default. this could come in handy.
