How to replace/fusion the Portable Apps Platform into Start Menu/Taskbar of Windows XP SP3?

Hi everyone! I have discovered this project just three days ago, but I found myself deeply interested into learning to left all my computers only with the fantastic Portable Apps Platform and their open source perspective.

The portable Java here is not really portable it appears, please clarify

I made two copies of the Java directory in two different Portableapps folder. Changing the settings in one location is changing the settings in another location too !
If its portable, the settings should be different for each and changing one shouldn't apply to the other.

I understand it uses registry, both using the same locations possibly. But there should be a way the settings are saved portably and not overwrite each other. How to achieve this ?

PortableApps on smaller screens/resolutions

Hello.

I was wondering if there were any plans for PortableApps platform to support computers with unusually low resolutions.

I have a UMPC that has a native resolution of 800x480, and I've noticed that the launcher window as well as the update select window is too tall to fit the screen. Unfortunately, Windows doesn't have the ALT+Drag feature that window managers on Linux have, so I can only pull the window up by the title bar and I still can't reach the buttons below in the updater window.

Which Safe Portable App-ing Rules Apply when Installed to Hard Drive?

Submitted by Logos A on October 1, 2011 - 2:08am

I have installed the latest PortableApps.com Platform Pre-Release 3 to a Windows XP machine.

C:/PortableApps

I'm going to be using it for as much as I can. So what Safe Portable App-ing Rules Apply when Installed to Hard Drive?

1) Do I have to treat it like a virtual flash Drive?

2) Do I have to hit the Eject button before shutting the computer down?

3) Since there is no flash Drive light to monitor how do I know if its safe to shut the computer down? Is there a Flash Drive light emulator? lol

I am chinese。I have downloaded pre-R3 and use the update function for download apps。It seems the downloaded apps all in english。I know I already set the platform in chinese。
the second suggest:when any apps download broke, the process of download will be paused before you clicked。I think :it should only write a log file and go on。after all done, try to download again ,then renew the log file and show it。

Since I didn't see a forum dedicated to using Code Blocks Portable, I figured I'd come here instead.

Code::Blocks is a free C++ Programming IDE and has been Portified. It works great with one issue that I've been trying to figure out a solution for. In code blocks, in order to set up the compiler, one must click:

Settings menu -> Compiler and Debugger... -> Toolchain Executable Tab

Is possible that a Stand Alone Installer be the source of a PA Platform online installer?

This is the Situation (especifictly With GoogleChrome - Now and Then "G.C.").
1. I want a StandAlone Portable G.C. distribution.
2. I downloaded the Portable online Installer - and Executed;
I Choose an folder to Deploy it. Wait that the installer (Stand alone G.C.
installer) get downloaded, uncompressed and installed (portable version).
3. Then I Compress the Folder where I Deployed the Portable G.C. distribution,
