Need some "<machine>-agnostic" run mode (or some configs profiles feature)

Anyway quick way to force portableapps to disregard any -stored apps's config files/settings¸ se we can run any of our bundled apps on a any new machines without having those saved config conflicting with the new environment ?
I've never found neither a "Settings Profile" features, nor any per-Apps's "Reset Stored Config" or " ...

Silently cleanup unneded data and restart improperly closed apps (because of PC restart w/o closing apps)

Here are two issues (I see that part with power loss issue is under tracking but have an extra opinion - feel free to merge with other similar thread if exists)
1 - dialog that states "App did not close properly last time" is not really actionable. Mean you cannot cancel cleanup, this is just informational. So proper behavior should be - cleanup data, do not show the dialog. Probably Platform should check for such "dirty" data and clean it up on start.

Add checkboxes to always silently update apps and to automatically close PA updater if updated in UI mode

Was not able to find request so writing it down here, merge it if needed.
One of the most annoying things in Platform - is too many unneeded confirmations.
For ex. I need to click all the time to update all apps (never skipping updates) and then check that they are updated and specifically click "Finish" on an empty screen.
Will be great to introduce completely silent updates or at least remove unneeded confirmation to close the updater.
Solution could be in one or 2 checkboxes.

How to know if a portableapp is installed

Respectable PortableApps Forum I want to make a question:

After having installed all the apps I have noticed that one of the app that I had thought that was installed was missing. Now my question is : Is there a way to know if all the apps are installed or must I try manually every app? In practice I want to know if all the apps of this suite are installed without trying every app manually to see if it is present..

Can one run more than one instance of PortableApps menu?

I am a long term user of Portable Apps. Its solved lots of problems for me. Over years I have used it more and more.

The menu is nice but I'm finding it now a bit overloaded with apps. I want to split it into two separate independent systems. One for normal apps. One for zillions of small utilities.

My question: Can you reliably run two instances of the PA platform simultaneously? If so, how?

Windows10 update killing launchers?

May 4rd I had to reboot my Windows10 due to a system update on May 3rd and found that I suddenly couldn't launch several portable apps because they reported the following:

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.

This only affected the launchers, if I tried the main executables, these would run without a problem.

Among the affected launchers were 7-Zip, Notepad++ and several others (didn't make notes of all of them but these two I use almost daily so they were the most important to me.)

Blocking updates and getting help

Is it possible to disable certain offered updates?
For example I use version 11 of TeamViewer commercially and have paid about $1,500 for that privilege. While free version users would have no qualms about upgrading, for me it would be very expensive. Since version 11 provides for all my needs I will not be upgrading. At this time version 11 can still be downloaded but with time, it will go away making it critical that I not accidentally update. Your thoughts?

Update (to 16.0.1) can't complete while platform is running. Platform can't be exited while updater is running. Oof.

So, I don't know why I didn't experience this on my flash drive, but it happened on my external hard drive. Not sure why.

I can't recall, but doesn't the Platform installer force the running Platform closed? It didn't do that and threw itself into a loop. Had to use Task Manager to quit (neither would allow me to).

No big deal, I just downloaded the new Platform installer manually. And, that worked perfectly. Smile
