PortableApps.com Platform

Hi masters,

For some reason the PortableApps I have on OneDrive just does not open. I try to execute Start.exe and no process is generated.
When I restart the computer it works fine for some days.
But, if I try to open it though PortableApps\PortableApps.com\PortableAppsPlatform.exe it always works fine.
Please, someone have any clue of whats going wrong here?

I currently have installed Portable apps on a flash drive. I want to delete it off my current flash drive and install it on a different flash that has more storage. Unfortunately, whenever I try to delete it I always get an error message. This also happens with other files on the same flash. I have even tried reformatting my flash to completely wipe the memory, but this also gives me an error message. All of my data is backed up, but I need the additional storage space.

I am using Windows 10 if it helps.

I've a shortcut on my PC desktop that starts PortableAppsPlatform.exe from where it's located on a flash drive. This is much easier than having to go to the flash drive to start it. Is there a command line option I can use in my shortcut Properties Target command to have PortableAppsPlatform.exe start the Mozilla Thunderbird app? Lastly, is there a list of command line options for PortableAppsPlatform.exe?

I noticed that some apps which I installed doesn't add context menu entries like there non-portable counterpart would do so I'm asking if there is a way to get those entries in a simple way, e.g. Notepad++ would add "Edit with Notepad++" to the context menu.

Edit1: Alright, this is intended behavior. But what is meant with:

I get the exact same error when selecting "Check For Updates" and "Get More Apps...": InvalidZipFilePossibleNoConnectionOrFirewall

Can you provide an URL to verify my connectivity?
Can it be related to the fact, that I removed 7-Zip as app?

I'm running 16.1 Beta 1 on Windows 10, 64-bit.

I am using PortableApps installed in a cloud (OneDrive), where my Documents also reside, but this is not the default Documents path of PortableApps. It would be nice to have the possibility to alter the default path settings in PortableApps for Documents, Music and so on, preferably by adding the correct path statements in PortableAppsMenu.ini. Is this possible, or could this be made possible?

I have installed PortableApps on many fixed ad portable devices and, when I want to update the apps I'm forced to download the updated files as many times as the number of different PortableApps installation. Is any mode possible to do the new apps download only once for all the subsequent installations?

I spent a number of hours yesterday downloading the 400 apps for the first time, but another program demanded an automatic restart of my PC during the install phase. This meant that the downloads that already exist in a previous temp folder are now "ignored" and the files have to be redownloaded thus wasting even more time.

How about setting up a named location %appdata%\temp\PA_Downloads\ which store any and all downloads until they are installed? That way if the process gets interrupted, it can easily be resumed without having to redownload the payloads again.

It would be useful to have parallel downloads as with connections at home becoming even more faster, it seems a waste of time to download each file one after the other.

Please add the option for the user to create their own categories.

I think you could create a variable for user categories and keep the original app category to perform the updates, for example:

[Details]
; so it would be displayed in the menu
UserCategory = Video
; so is the original category
Category = Music & Video
