As this app hasn't been developed by the user since they first posted it, and the app has undergone a number of revisions since, I'm not going to add it to the list at this time.

If someone else decides to pick it up, I'll gladly add it at that time.
Alternatively, if another dev decides to add this to the list, that's their choice, I was just explaining my reasoning why I won't.

can someone add Xmind ?

thanks,
Tal

allway sync

Submitted by ottosykora on November 22, 2012 - 2:33am

I am using some portabel sofware called Allway sync

One can also download a 'paf' version on their website ( http://allwaysync.com/download.html ) however it is called paf.exe, but it is just a zip file and not a paf installer.

May be someone could point those guys as how to make proper paf version and then they might be happy to place it here as well?

Google Cloud Print?

Submitted by crazyskeggy on November 21, 2012 - 3:25am

An app I would like to see made portable is some sort of app that registers the current computer's printers to Google Cloud Print, and then de-registers them afterwards. I have done a search and all I could find were discussions on Chrome, Chromium and PAM updates.

I was searching for how to make a portable app, but it looks too complicated. I am a fast learner, so if you want to help me and don't want to do all the dirty work I will be happy to do that, but I need somebody to show me the right tools and steps to take.

About the app: It's ideal for people who want to study the bible the way it was written. No teacher of minister is in your way of reading the reall stuff! So it's a good tool for christians and atheists who want to study the real bible.

Why Foxit and Sumatra for PDFs

Submitted by Alcasar on November 19, 2012 - 12:25am

I have just started having problems with Foxit when i tried to print.

I found PDF-XChange Viewer that seems to be working and seems to be portable, at least i didn't have to install it.

I'm wondering why you chose to offer Foxit Reader and Sumatra PDF Viewer.
Especialy with the comments on this page.

Google SketchUp

Submitted by dlwatib on November 18, 2012 - 11:45am

What is the status of SketchUp? Why isn't the free version available as a portable app? The last discussion was a couple of years old and didn't really answer the question of if it could possibly become available, or if a user could make it portable for his own personal use.

Personal Ancestral File (PAF)

Submitted by dlwatib on November 18, 2012 - 11:12am

Personal Ancestral File (PAF)is by far the most popular genealogy and ancestry charting software, far more popular than gramps. When researching your genealogy at public libraries it would be especially nice to have your work on a thumb drive and be able to directly edit your PAF file while on the library's computer. I know it's not open source, but the LDS church (which owns it) might be interested in making a portable version for the reason I stated above.
