SpeedsimPortable

Submitted by Draewil on June 16, 2011 - 3:35pm

Hi everyone !
As an OGame's player, I used to always have Speedsim on my laptop 'cause webspeedsim is not as fast, does not have the same option. I don't know if it uses registry or directly relative path but i'd like to get it in my PortableApps Manager !

Also, it's open-source !

So here is my request:
> Can someone package it as a PortableApps executable ?
> Is this allowed ? (read, do we have the right to create this package even if it's open-source ?)

Portable Proxy Bypasser

Submitted by cjdrox on June 16, 2011 - 1:59pm

Summary: I am looking for a portable app, that can browse both http and https sites, anonymously, through sites that do not log personal info (such as browser type, site visited, number of clicks, etc).

I have been a great fan of http://www.ninjaproxy.com and http://proxy.org for many months since the Sri Lankan government banned several sites that were considered to be a "threat to national security".

Apophysis 7X

I did a search here to see if anyone had mad this portable and I found three threads which are from 2006 and can't accept comments which is why I am starting this one. I've seen some extraordinary fractals from this program and there is already a "portable" version available - see link:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/apophysis7x/files/

it would be very cool if some ambitious and talented developer made this in our favorite portable format.

thank you.

Python

I just started to use PortablePythonScripter, which is an interpreter.
Dummyquestion: why can't I find a Python compiler which is able to create standalone .exe files for Windows ?

Google Calender Sync

Submitted by iamplee on June 13, 2011 - 12:51am

I'm using Google calendar to take my calendar with me and google have done a good job for this.

Is it possible to install Google sync to and run from a USB stick without changing anything on the host computer? The challenge is that my employer doesn't allow installing software so I use portable applications. Does it need to be really open source in order to make a portable version? If not, anyone know what has been done on the host PC and can we have all those dll's..etc. put into the same directory for execution without installation?

Many thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

LibreCAD

Submitted by Quinkink on June 7, 2011 - 3:10pm

Hello all,
I came across this nice 2D CAD program that is in beta stage: LibreCAD. It seems really nice, just what a need for the occasional diagram. Any how I was wondering if this could be made portable? The sourceforge page is here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/librecad/ I haven't contacted the developers directly... I suppose I could try.
Cheers all,
Quinkink.
