Lyx

Submitted by ozbodd on December 3, 2007 - 12:29pm

Program: Lyx
License: Open Source

Description: LyX is a document processor that encourages an approach to writing based on the structure of your documents, not their appearance. It is released under a Free Software / Open Source license.

LyX is for people that write and want their writing to look great, right out of the box. No more endless tinkering with formatting details, 'finger painting' font attributes or futzing around with page boundaries. You just write. In the background, Prof. Knuth's legendary TeX typesetting engine makes you look good.

Inclusion of Total Commander in your standard / lite suite?

Submitted by zipherbug on December 1, 2007 - 8:47pm

Hi,

I thought it would be a good idea to include this great filecommander in your standard package? People with a license (as I) can just copy the licenseskey to the directory.
This application is already made portable by the author.

The url is: http://www.ghisler.com
Link for the portable version: http://www.ghisler.com/usbinst.htm

Thanks for a GREAT site.

Portable Frostwire and Limewire /w java

Submitted by John Wayne Goodin on December 1, 2007 - 5:26pm

I already use both Frostwire and Limewire portably. Just install them as normal and copy the folder contents to a folder on the portable device. All that is needed is for it to be updated to optionally look to John's "Java Portablizer" when they are run on a machine that didn't already have java installed.
