When you go in the options and click on libreOffice and then on Path and you edit the Temp File in that way that you use the Temp File of LibreOffice on the USB-Stick, everything is ok. But if you close LibreOffice and restart it and verify the Path of the Temporary file it is again on C. In portable OpenOffice 2.4.0 for example, it does not switch after the restart to C.

I am getting unacceptably sluggish response time to such simple things as menu tracking on LibreOfficePortable running from the new harddrive on my equally new Windows 8 64-bit laptop. Other portable apps don't have this problem. I even get acceptable responsiveness from FirefoxPortable even though it is running without a cache.
I have installed LibreOffice on my harddrive at C:\Portable\PortableApps from the PortableApps start menu, so everything should be standard setup. When I try to start LibreOffice, either from the PortableApps launcher or by double-clicking the LibreOfficePortable.exe directly it often fails to launch a user interface window. When it fails I have to use the taskmanager to manually kill any LibreOfficePortable tasks (there is always at least one) and then it usually works.
LibreOffice can start with --invisible parameter (here is the manual: http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/natty/man1/libreoffice.1.html )
I start the D:\PortableApps\PortableApps\LibreOfficePortable\LibreOfficePortable.exe with --invisible parameter. I check from Task Manager of Windows, it is running properly. But if I open any of LibreOffice executable (Writer or Math or Calc or Base...), it gives this warning:
Another instance of LibreOffice is already running. Please close other instances of LibreOffice before launching LibreOffice Portable.
Any way to have LO 3.6.3 upon opening a new blank page default to View Print Layout?
Tnx a bunch,
Have installed the current update over the previous one, all went ok, now LO tells me it is version 184.108.40.206 (update package is called 3.6.3)
Is that correct?
I'm interested in collaborating with Portableapps to make available a portable version of the last stable version for each branch. These portable versions would be very useful to check for regressions in LibreOffice.
What do I need to do to update 3.5.5 portable to 220.127.116.11 (the latest and possibly last version in the 3.5 branch)?
Today (5 Nov) I went to the PA LibreOffice page, to download the latest version. There are two download buttons "Download 3.6.3" and "3.6.3 (All Languages)".
However BOTH buttons have the following text on the second line: "for Windows, multilingual". Presumably, only the "All Languages" button is multilingual? The other one should be "English only"? Otherwise, both of the buttons should point to the same download files! In which case, the size of the downloads should be the same (and you wouldn't need 2 buttons)!
I'd like to make use of the portable version of LO. Problem is, it's slow to the point of unusable on a standard USB stick. If I loaded it onto a high speed CF card (for example), would performance be greatly improved?
I just attempted an install of LibreOfficePortable_18.104.22.168_MultilingualNormal.paf.exe into an older installation of LibreOfficePortable.
Here's what happened:
1) All of my settings were ignored. Good thing I always backup the current setup before installing a new one so all I have to do is delete 22.214.171.124.
2) All "normal" languages were installed in addition to US English. No option to remove unwanted languages.
