LibreOffice 3.6.4 (All Languages) NSIS Error: integrity check failed

Submitted by m0d on December 13, 2012 - 6:05pm

The LibreOffice 3.6.4 (All Languages) version gets NSIS Error: integrity check failed when trying to run the installer,
[ LibreOfficePortable_3.6.4_MultilingualAll.paf.exe ].
Using the updater fails repeatedly, as it never finishes downloading the file.
And, I downloaded the installer and I keep getting the failure

The other version, [ LibreOfficePortable_3.6.4_MultilingualNormal.paf.exe ] starts fine.

Opening LibreOffice Portable from application data files

Submitted by Bruce Epple on December 7, 2012 - 5:54pm

This may sound stupid, but I just loaded LibreOffice Portable and found I couldn't open any of the data files created by an earlier version Of LibreOffice 3.6.3 by clicking on the on the files themselves. I can only open them by opening the correct LibreOffice application by opening the application that created it and then then opening the file that has the data.

I have loaded everything on a thumbdrive applications and data files.

I'm using Windows XP SP3. What am I missing?

What happened to the option of not installing unwanted dictionaries?

Submitted by Wm ... on November 24, 2012 - 6:43am

I was doing a zap to regain some space and noticed that LO has a whole load of dicts (dict-de, dict-pl, et al) that I don't need. I have just UN-installed and reinstalled it and they are still there. They can't be removed as extensions from within LO either. Deleting them by hand doesn't make LO cry. Am I choosing the wrong installer?

Options: Path: Temporary File

Submitted by rudolph3 on November 21, 2012 - 7:17am

When you go in the options and click on libreOffice and then on Path and you edit the Temp File in that way that you use the Temp File of LibreOffice on the USB-Stick, everything is ok. But if you close LibreOffice and restart it and verify the Path of the Temporary file it is again on C. In portable OpenOffice 2.4.0 for example, it does not switch after the restart to C.

Poor performance running from harddrive.

I am getting unacceptably sluggish response time to such simple things as menu tracking on LibreOfficePortable running from the new harddrive on my equally new Windows 8 64-bit laptop. Other portable apps don't have this problem. I even get acceptable responsiveness from FirefoxPortable even though it is running without a cache.

Unreliable start of LibreOffice

Submitted by dlwatib on November 18, 2012 - 9:30am

I have installed LibreOffice on my harddrive at C:\Portable\PortableApps from the PortableApps start menu, so everything should be standard setup. When I try to start LibreOffice, either from the PortableApps launcher or by double-clicking the LibreOfficePortable.exe directly it often fails to launch a user interface window. When it fails I have to use the taskmanager to manually kill any LibreOfficePortable tasks (there is always at least one) and then it usually works.
