Keep 3.6.5 how to ...

Submitted by bamboo on February 12, 2013 - 8:51am

The changes to LO4 may make you want to keep LO3.6.5.
It is easy to have both: just rename the LO folder, e.g.
"LibreOfficePortable" ---> "LibreOfficePortable3.6.5"
then add the LO4. After making the name change the prompt
for updating LO3.6.5 will not appear.
Duplicate files will appear in the program list, but hovering
the mouse over one will display the version.

Symantec isolates files - LO 4 not usable after update

Submitted by kaum on February 8, 2013 - 4:12am

Hi,
I upgraded to the LO 4 version today. Symantec Endpoint Protection isolates "unopkg.exe" and "unopkg.bin" as "Suspicious.MLApp".
LO does not start.

On my home computer Symantec has not isolated anything, although LO 4 is running there as well.
You may like to contact Symantec...

[Fixed] LibreOffice Portable 4.0.0 failing to start

Submitted by dunedin-hughie on February 7, 2013 - 5:42pm

Might be a glitch somewhere. Just downloaded and installed apps> install new app the latest release LibreOffice 4.00.

Refuses to start from portableapps menu. and also refuses to start from individual executables in the LO directory within portableapps platform.

Best wishes,

Hugh

Java support for Libre Office Base

Submitted by Bruce Epple on January 4, 2013 - 6:47am

I recently purchased the USB drive with both Libre Office and supposedly Java installed. I assumed that plugging this into a Compaq computer running Windows 7 w/o any java installed would work. I did this so I could do some database work on somebody elses computer w/o having to load they're computer with files and information that they don't know where it came from or what to do with it It appears it works okay on 32bit and 64 bit computers w/Java already installed.
