Problems setting interface language to spanish

Submitted by erichsito on May 28, 2013 - 10:05am

Ever since the launch of LibreOffice Portable I have not been able to adjust the interface language so it would stick.
Only when I start LIbreOffice Portable as an administrator every time the language continues to e spanish. If I start it as a regular user it is english again.
I used to have this problem before with OpenOffice and it worked right only with version 3.2 which I continue to use for this reason.
I run Windows 7 home basic 64-bit sp1.

Your help will be appreciated for I want to switch to Libre Office.

Thank you,
Erich

Reducing the size of LibreOffice

Submitted by ws2r on April 30, 2013 - 10:39am

Just created a batch file for reducing the size and number of files of LibreOffice (basically it removes unnecessary locale files and some rarely used components).

The batch reduces the file size from 220 to 134mb and file number from 6888 to 2051.

It works for me on LO 3.6.5 and 4.0.2. Except for some files under \Data\settings\user\config, it does not alter any files under \Data.

Some relatively important files that the full version deletes:

- Some files under \Data\settings\user\config
- All launchers except LibreOfficePortable.exe

Problem installing portable version ... "cannot write ..." on one of the font files.

Submitted by softfoot on April 22, 2013 - 4:52pm

I've seen this several times when installing or updating - it always complains that it cannot write one of the font (.ttf) files.

I am using the standard directory structure for Portable Apps - so, given the standard .paf. installer I wouldnt expect a problem with path lengths.

There is miles of space on the USB drive (its 32Gb) and the drive is OK and passes a drive check.

If I copy the structure from another drive it copies OK (including the file in question) and runs OK.

BTW I love the package.

Submitted by whisp3r3r on April 17, 2013 - 4:45am

i am new to portable apps so i would appreciate any help regarding a question i have- whenever i save a file to the pendrive after using Libreoffice, even though it's not saved on the computer- why does the name of the file appear in the 'Recents' Window? I thought there was not supposed to be any trace of what we do! Or am i missing something?

LibreOffice 4.0.1 failing to start

Submitted by bigade on March 21, 2013 - 1:11pm

Hello everyone, I hope you can help.

Libreoffice just fails to start. No message or error screen. If I have task manager open, I see Libreoffice start and then close within seconds.

It seems to be the issue that others had with a previous version. I've looked and have those .dll's that were missing then.

Any ideas?

cheers

"soffice - Fatal Error": Cannot obtain UNO_SERVICES from uno ini

Hi everyone, tried searching for a solution to this here and via google, but no joy - hoping someone here can help me!

Anyway, I've created a portable installation of LO on my home PC using "LibreOfficePortable_4.0.0.3_MultilingualNormal.paf.exe", and transferred the folder to my work PC (unable to run installers on that one due to paranoid IT dept).

However, when I try to run any of the LibreOffice executables, I get the following error:

soffice - Fatal Error
The program cannot be started.
The service manager is not available.

LibreOffice Portable on CITRIX?

Submitted by monika_t on March 18, 2013 - 11:40am

Hello,

we would like to use LibreOffice in a CITRIX environment. Right now the second user can't start LibreOffice because of the .lock file.
For several reasons we would prefer using the portable edition versus the 'normal' one.
Is there a way of setting the path to the LibreOffice settings (DataDir) depending on the windows user?

I guess this would solve the CITRIY multi user issue.

Has anybody experiences with LibreOffice portable on CITRIX?

Thanks a lot
Monika
