Utility Apps Support

Hey, I was using a portable Java launcher to play Minecraft and other games off my USB drive. It was working for a bit until just recently it started giving me an error message saying that it cant run and needs to be reinstalled. Just wondering if this was because I deleted the files for Java (not the launcher version) Or if there was some sort of update that needs to be worked on.

looks like https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/ccportable download is broken.
only 1MB and as from PA-Platform it says broken download.

I'm getting this: https://i.imgur.com/ubA3UVm.jpg when I run CPUZ 1.84 Portable. This does NOT happen on CPUZ 1.83 portable. My system is Win7 SP1 64bit

SUMo Portable leaves a Registry Value behind in the HKCU\Software\KC Softwares Registry Key, causing that value and consequently that key to be left behind after.

Adding the following fixes the bug.

WinMerge 2011 Portable includes both 32-bit & 64-bit versions of WinMerge 2011, however due to a small typo, it only ever launches the 32-bit version, even on 64-bit Windows. I noticed this when I couldn't compare a large file because it required too much RAM for the 32-bit version, and I was surprised by the error, since I was pretty sure the 64-bit version was included too.

Will you be updating this soon - current version is 5.5.7, PA is still on 5.5.4.

DUMo is also out of date.

Subcategory "Other" of category "Utils" have 70+ applications. It's more than all applications of "Games" category.
At the same time categories "Font Tools" and "Time Wasters" have only one application.
I have a suggestion for administrators of this site.
Maybe divide "Other" category into several subcategories.
For example:

Checksum Computing
Checksum Control Portable - create and verify MD5/SFV checksums
Rapid CRC Unicode Portable - CRC/MD5/SHA hashing
winMd5Sum Portable - check md5 sums to verify files on the go

Hey there, I have a Sata Hard drive that for some reason stopped booting on a computer with Windows XP Pro on it. I just tried to make it a second drive on a different computer on Sata1 port but the Win7 Computer sticks at a colored loading icon until I unplug the data cable, yes with it still running and it then finishes the boot, the bios does see it. So that might be one problem you could help with.
