Conversion to GoogleChromeLegacyWin7 failed on my Win 7 System.
When I select an html file and select Google Chrome in the "open with" menu, nothing happens. I think Windows tries to open it with the non-portable version, which I don't have installed. Is there any way to redirect it to the portable version?
I have regular Google Chrome and Google Chrome Portable on my computer. I use Google Chrome Portable to run some applications where I need the version of Chrome not to change and I use regular Google Chrome for regular stuff like email, YouTube, web browsing etc. This setup has worked well for years but recently when I run Google Chrome Portable, regular Google Chrome comes up. However this phenomena only occurs if I have another regular Google Chrome already running in another window.
I created an account just to ask this, so please don't leave me hanging.
Can anyone tell me which Chrome settings are actually saved on my PC? Because I know that some of the settings are saved on my Google account instead, but I don't know which is which.
I was able to open Chrome with full information (like cookies, history, ...) by right clicking and selecting "Open" GoogleChromePortable
I would like to ask if there is a way to open it automatically in Python using Selenium or Webdriver. Thanks a lot if you can help.
Hoping to get an answer soon.

My Opera Portable works fine, but at the rare occasion it crashed for me, there was this dubious sounding message.
how do I stop chrome portable from checking for updates and preventing this popup from appearing?
The LibreWolf is a great addition to the suite, thanks for the efforts.
Any chance to have profiles for it just like the Firefox profiles?
Hi everybody,
maybe you can give some pointers to this problem:
I have Google Chrome Portable 64-bit Stable (Test) on a separate HDD, along with the rest of the PortableApps suite, and since about the last 3 updates, the extensions keep getting deactivated. They even don't show up in the list, it's like they were deleted or can't be accessed (they are still on the HDD, i checked).
I can reinstall them and they stay for the current session, but as soon as i close and restart the app, they are gone again.
How do we disable CONSTANT notifications that "To get future Google Chrome updates, you'll need Windows 10 or later. This computer is using Windows 8.1."
There are a million reasons why certain machines will *never* get updated from Windows 8.1.
The last version of Google Chrome without this nag is 107.0.5304.122.
Sadly, the solution does not appear to work on Portable Chrome, only full install Google Chrome.
Can this be incorporated into the Portable version of Google Chrome:
