PuTTY: Registry Setting/Session confusion

Submitted by comfortablynumb on May 5, 2011 - 3:58pm

Hi,
Putty Portable Rocks! I am just confused a bit on where the session details are saved though.
I'm trying to get Putty setup so that I can use it on my main system and also keep the details on a usb drive as well. I don't want the information in the registry if possible. I am also not sure on what the difference between Putty Portable & Putty Tray is? Aside from the icon tray has, or the transparency, I am wondering if it's the session data?

Hi there,

Just tried the pidgin portable version, works like a charm so first of all I'd like to thank the PA and Pidgin folks for the WLM alternative (which was a labeled "crosoft PITA").

I was just wondering, I created my own spashscreen (as the default one is a little bit ... not my cup of tea) How do I put mine on the *.exe ?
If you want to see it I'll send it to you, why not put mine in the boot of the *.exe

thank you in advance for the answer.

greetings from France.

Portable Pidgin vs. portable Opera

Submitted by thopetersson on December 31, 2010 - 7:38am

Hi all

I just recently went to full mobile, using pidgin and opera under WinXP. On some developers' forum someone posted a patch file that allows Pidgin to use different browsers. My question: could this work on a Windows based system? From what I understand, the patch modifies some parts of GTK file(s), but I guess Portable Pidgin (the Windows executable) has only the necessary elements of GTK so the patch would not have any effect (also, the Linux version has got a "Browser" option in the preferences, which can't be found on the Windows version).
