Just wanted to share my approach on having the complete set of putty tools in a really portable way.

The principles

The whole approach is based on the following principles:

I'm getting the dread MS error, "Pidgin has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" every time I try to open the program. Does anybody else have this problem? Does it have to do with something our IT Police have done to my computer? I'm running version 2.10.2 from my thumb-drive. Thanks in advance.

I needed extra tools to run PuTTY portable with Emacs, so I packaged many of the extra tools as add-ons to PuTTY portable

did you ever noticed that there is a log file log.txt always created when filezilla operates? it is left behind when filezilla closes in portable drive's root folder. ex. I have P:\portableApps\filezillaPortable. When I execute it, do something, close it, there is P:\log.txt file created. I like to have a log, but it should remain in app's folder, not in root..

I can not run Chrome on my partition.

When I start it does not open any page, or even settings.

The screens are white!

I have windows 7.

When caught and put his briefcase on the desktop, it works!

The same happens with Iron and beta and dev.

I have putty installed on my laptop (Win7) which is configured with many many server connections. I installed Putty portable on a USB drive because I thought it would be useful should I not have my laptop and need to access servers from another computer.

Is there an easy way to export all the setting in my current Putty set-up on my local machine to the portable version installed on my USB drive?

Spell check is not working by default in portable pidgin. Also it doesnt work even if I recheck the spell check option. It is working in the original installer.

Please suggest.
