Pidgin: Google Talk problem

Submitted by crag24 on December 3, 2010 - 10:48am

I'm sure that i tried every combination on internet about pidgin gtalk settings. But none of them worked for me.

Then a crazy idea came to my mind; "what if i install pidgin and try Google Talk again?"
Answer is: "Hell YEAH!" ^_^ It working perfect with installation.

But nor Portable Pidgin neither x-Pidgin can't access. It always gives me this error
"blablabla@gmail.com/ disabled
Server does not use any supported authentication method"

Please help me! I want to use this for gtalk too =/

I've been seeing a lot of updates for Pidgin during the last weeks, and for now I'm putting my pluging (ie: Facebook, guifications, etc) into the App folder. Are plugins also working under the Data folder?

Because at every updates, I need to recopy my plugins into the new install I would definitely would like to have the ability of putting my plugin files into the Data folder for the convenience of not getting them wiped out with every new Pidgin release.

Thanks!

FileZilla: Problems with the character "$" in the folder paths

Submitted by ax55 on November 16, 2010 - 1:56pm

I installed FileZilla Portable and did not recognize the path of the setting. After several tests I found that was because in the path one directory have the character "$" and this is a problem for FileZilla related to environment variables that begin precisely with that character ($). I had to rename my directory and everything was normal. With other portable applications this problem never appeared.

I mention this in case someone experiences something similar and if possible fix in an upcoming release.
