Will NVU be avalible on U3 in the near future?
John, I don't now if you know, but the last NVU Portable hasn't the new .paf.exe file extension.
I'm new to building a website and have found one possible 'glitch' which i'm unsure about. Earlier today i was going to publish some files and had them open (about 6/7) after saving some corrections.
I had only published files before individually i.e. one open checked over then published. With the 6/7 open i tried to publish each one in turn after checking and NVU seemed to crash. I rebooted the PC, opened up files individually, published them one-by-one and no problems. Is it because the links can be conflicting if certain files are sent in a batch or something?
I did try uploading a number from FireFTP and found the links didn't seem to work and had to refresh the browser for each page - which i thought wasn't quite right!
Hi There,
Is there a way of making the site folder links in NVU Portable dynamic, as it's proving a bit of a pain having to change the drive letter every time i plug into a different computer...
Cheers

As no-one has posted about NVU for a while i thought i'd post my thoughts. As a teacher i wanted to set up a site for my students. I have found the portability very useful and wish to thank John Haller for his hard work. I add bits to pages at work and home, finding the combination of portable browser (with all my bookmarks) and NVU a godsend. I use eMindMaps for some of the layout - NVU for editing and publishing. [I use the firefox ftp for posting some files and have had no problems. The pluggin seems much better than the other ftp client i tried . . . but then i don't have the computing knowledge to know its pitfalls if there are any]. I wouldn't have progressed as far as i have in a couple of weeks if it hadn't been for this. When completed i'll ask for feedback!
Problem #1:
I downloaded Nvu Portable 1.0 rev 3 and tried install it on my 2GB flash stick into the folder G:\Program Files\Nvu . It didn't work. I even tried it on multiple pc's. I get a error:
http://www.sdx.xperthost.com/uploader/files/1/Images/nvuerror.GIF
---------------------------------------------------------------
Problem #2 | I cant delete
Since it didn't install properly on multiple pc's, I went to go delete it. I get prompted with this:
http://www.sdx.xperthost.com/uploader/files/1/Images/deleteerror.GIF
Thats odd. Why are there boxes in the filename....
Then I get this....
I use NVU at school (servers). Since then my Microsoft Office profile is deleted
When creating a Form in NVU Portable it's easy to insert the Form elements. Then when modifying a Form element it's easy to just double-click the element and modify its properties.
However, this doesn't work when trying to modify a "Selection List" Form element. Nothing happens when double-clicking the element and if one goes to the INSERT menu and selects "Selection List" it comes up with all of the properties of the selected element on the page. But, when one clicks OK it disappears.
Getting this to work would be really nice.
The proper name of the program is "Nvu"--note the difference in capitalization. Any reason why you call your version "NVU Portable", John?
Where does NVU site manager store the sites? In other words, I have two websites in NVU's site manager, which file are they stored in. I'd like to protect it.
