[Closed] Notepad++ 6.4.5 deleting plugins settings

Submitted by JCSalomon on October 1, 2013 - 6:02pm

This is particularly relevant to the DSpellCheck dictionaries, but it also applies to PluginManager settings.

If I understand correctly, the NP++ Portable launcher is intended to copy the saved settings directory X:\PortableApps\Notepad++Portable\Data\Config\plugins\config to the working settings directory X:\PortableApps\Notepad++Portable\App\Notepad++\plugins on startup, and save the working directory to the save location on shutdown.

This is not working for me.

Notepad++: NppFTP.xml disappearing

Submitted by loproc on March 6, 2012 - 10:52am

The config file containing settings (and sessions) for the NppFTP plugin goes missing once in a while - seems that the entire "App\Notepad++\plugins\config\NppFTP" folder gets deleted.

This is very frustrating and causes a fantastic app to loose part of it's settings :/

Hope someone who has knowledge of this can help me somehow

Kompozer Portable auch in deutsch/also in a German Version?

Submitted by Hopper0 on February 15, 2011 - 1:28pm

Hallo,
ist geplant, die portable Version in deutsch zu veröffentlichen, oder gibt es eine Möglichkeit, die portable Version KompoZer 0.7.10 (englisch) mit der Installations-Version 0.77 (deutsch) zu "verheiraten"?

can we have in near future a german version of KompoZer Portable 0.7.10
or is there a possibility to combine the portable Version of KompoZer 0.7.10 (english) with the German Version 0.77, wich installs in Windows?

Gruß
Horst

Notepad++ always loses preferences on update

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on October 20, 2010 - 11:42am

This has been bugging me for quite some time now, so I thought I should report it so that it finally gets fixed. Whenever I update my Notepad++ Portable installation all my preferences get lost (new document encoding, tab settings, auto-completion settings etc.) and I have to spend a while going through every tab of the preferences dialog resetting them to the way I like. It's quite frustrating.

Please could you look into fixing it for the next update? Thank you.

Kaze has been working on the next big release of Kompozer for a while now, and according to his blog
http://kazhack.org/?post/2009/09/29/Almost-there
he is going to release it any day now.

I'm assuming that the b means beta, but I've been playing with the alpha version, and that's more stable than the released 0.7...

I'm a fan of Kompozer (especially when I'm teaching a norm about HTML) and I'm glad to see that the project is alive and active.

Notepad++: File missing from v5.5 distribution?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on October 7, 2009 - 12:08pm

I opted to update a plugin. This wasn't successful and now am getting an alert telling me that the file gpup.exe is missing whenever I start Notepad++ Portable. Here are the details:

I just upgraded to version 5.5. When I restarted it told me there was an update to one of my plugins (change bars) and offered to update it for me. I accepted. Then it told me that it would have to install another couple of plugins and that it would do it without asking, which I assume it did. Then I had to restart.
