Launcher Problem - Please Help

Yeagh, with my Project64 Portable launcher, for some reason one set of Registry keys is not being imported into the Registry upon execution. When I manually import them they get exported after closing P64 Portable/

The .reg thats not being imported is reffered to as "project642.reg" w/o quotes

Could someone please explain why the .reg is not being imported and what I can do to correct this cause it is annoying to hafta manually import a .reg and I am sure P64 Portable Launcher users find it annoying too.

Heres the .nsi and lets stay on-topic regarding the problem:

Problems with registry::KeyExists

Submitted by br0kenkeychain on November 21, 2007 - 10:17pm

I was hesitant to post this since the Invalid command: ${registry::KeyExists} error has already been discussed in detail in previous threads, but none of the explanations so far have solved my problem.

I've installed Dialogs, FindProc, NewAdvSplash, and Registry.
I'm using the 2.3 template,but I'm still getting

Invalid command: ${registry::KeyExists}
Error in script "C:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Desktop\Celtx.nsi" on line 527 -- aborting creation process

of course Registry::SaveKey and DeleteKey don't work either.

Submitted by jero9000 on November 19, 2007 - 10:04am

Does someone know a link to an existing Photoshop CS3 portable app? I ve got a portable app from PS but thats a stand alone portable app. How can i add this one to portable apps? For the portable PS i need an admin licence. I do not always have an admin licence. With Portable apps i dont need an admin licence so thats why i want to add PS to my portable apps.

Someone?

PortableApps.com Extras

Submitted by sag47 on November 17, 2007 - 4:23pm

I just created a new SF.net project called PortableApps.com Extras.

Project page:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableappsext/

It has Apps that I have redesigned the layout to work on the PortableApps Suite.

If the original PortableApps site developers wish to create downloads in their Applications section for this software then thats fine by me.

I just wanted to share with and extend the PortableApps community.

Suggestion for PAM and all Forks/Mods

Submitted by dragonmage on November 17, 2007 - 1:08pm

I think the abilty to dock the menus to the screen edge and autohide, so that you just bump the screen edge with the cursor to access the menu would be great. It would be faster than clicking the systray icon and allow access on systems where the systray is locked. Would this be possible on any of the menus?

Calc Portable .txt update

Submitted by kam2kam on November 17, 2007 - 8:59am

I work for a GIANT blue chip company and use excel very heavily but since the discovery of portable apps I have fallen in love with all apps but in particular with Calc, however, while I and many friends would love to stop using all other vendors programs in favour of calc app, we find that there is one small functionally missing to make it complete, and that is to have the option to SAVE AS .txt and then check mark options to choose selected range only.

For this particular task we currently use Lotus 123. We have to have it saved this way because SAP system only likes .txt uploads.

Validation?

I tryed to create the folder structure for GeoGebra; is there a way to verify everything is fine? I will then modify our existing installer to support PortableApps...

Access to registry (HKLM)

Submitted by tottle on November 16, 2007 - 5:27am

Hi,

I’m a newbie to PortableApps (but not application deployment as I use Novell ZenWorks at work) and I have a deployment question.

I’ve been doing lots of searching on the forum (and Google) about portable applications and how to install / deploy them.

When an application needs to write to the registry, the launcher / wrapper firstly makes a copy of the registry key, writes the new settings, launches the application, and then writes the original settings back to the registry.

Gens 32 Portable.

Ok, look, im truying to help out some. I first made a launcher for what turned out to be proprietary software, and that sure as hell backfired. I was expecting a "thanks" and I got "you are illigal go away".

Anyhow, i understand.

so here is the deal, i am going to make a portable launcher for an app that wont get everyones panties in a wad.

I was thinking of my favorite emulator. http://gens32.emubase.de/

It should easily comply with the .paf requirements, everyhting is confined inside the program folder.
