.PAF.EXE creation

Submitted by rvreugde on October 8, 2007 - 7:33am

Hi All,

I have searched through the forum, but I did not find the answer directly.

I manage to create a Portable App, but, I just need to create a PAF.EXE file, in order to let it "install" via the PAM.

Can anobody tell me the "secret"? Wink

Thanks a lot in advance...

Canorus - Who's Interested? (Music Composition)

Submitted by Patrick Patience on October 6, 2007 - 11:10pm

A while back I was looking for an open source Music Notation/Composition Program. I found Lilypond, which is all text based. I was going to work on making it portable, but it's not that beneficial to most users. There are about three GUI's for Lilypond, but only one has Windows binaries, and it's not so great. It also hasn't been updated in a while.

ToDoList 5.3.9 Portable Need feedback. (Discontinued)

Submitted by wsm23 on October 6, 2007 - 12:06pm

I am attempting to make ToDoList 5.3.9 paf compliant.

What: ToDoList is a hierarchical task manager with native XML support for custom reporting. It allows you to repeatedly sub-divide your tasks into more manageable pieces, which makes it ideal for IT related projects as well as more general activities.
Size: about 2MB
Registry: None
Writes Settings: .xml file

netbeans portable

Submitted by webmailusr-msn on October 6, 2007 - 1:30am

Hi:
I have already seen around here people asking for netbeans portable. I made an experiment and realized that it is possible - at least with version 5.5.1-
I zipped the contents of the folder where it was installed, then unzipped it in another pc, and found it doesn't have any problem, except that you have to let it know where is java jdk. So a simple patch is this: unzip it and edit etc\netbeans.conf
Set the java path in etc\netbeans.conf at:
netbeans_jdkhome="c:\program files\Java\jdk1.6.0_02" (or wherever you have it).

Start Drive app (Question!)

Hey guys, I've been working on an app.

Here is a screenshot.

The idea is to have it set to autorun. It would popup with the menu which would let you check off the actions you want performed as the drive starts up. It also includes a button which if clicked, would act as a mailto link, so they can contact you.

It would include an .ini file that would allow you to completely customize it. Pretty much everything could be tweaked in the ini file, including:

ATanks portable help!

I need your comments on this...

I'm doing the launcher for Atomic Tanks (http://atanks.sourceforge.net/) using pkeffect's mIRC launcher (based on John's nsi, and SmithTech) and with a splashscreen from NeoRame... everything looks ok but when I double click on ATanks Portable it shows a screen saying "atanks.exe not found"

I think the error is here: !define EXE "$EXEDIR\ATanks\atanks.exe"

The structure is this:

ATanks Portable (with Launcher)
ATanks (with exe)

What I did wrong?

Auto running programs

Submitted by HappyCoder on October 3, 2007 - 3:59pm

I want to know what people think of a feature for auto running apps when you plug in the flash drive and start up portable apps.

How I see it working is you can select auto running two ways for apps. Auto run on this machine or auto run on all machines.

The auto run on this machine feature would create a file somewhere on the local machine storing which apps to autorun, it could also name the file with unique id that is also stored on the flash drive so another flash drive with the same app wont auto run.
