Portable Sony Vegas v6.0 (6MB) Project

Submitted by aniperleo on August 27, 2006 - 5:23am

Sony Vegas v6.0 combines real-time SD, DV, and HDV video editing with unrivaled audio tools to provide the ultimate all-in-one environment for creative professionals — high-definition and high-fidelity. With its unique, visual approach to digital video and audio production, Vegas delivers tremendous power, incredible speed, and maximum productivity in an uncomplicated, efficient platform.

Sony Vegas v6.0 also uses 156 megabytes of hard-drive space, but it only needs 6. Imagine the possibilities; editing video on the fly, like a fly. The NSIS-based launcher is still in development, but after a recent update from Ryan McCue on my Photoshop thread, I have the distinct feeling that both of these apps will be well running soon.

Submitted by splat on August 25, 2006 - 5:48pm

Hi Guys....

I just got the latest ClamAV portable app. and it is once again taking forever to get the virus signature updates - this happened the last time I got the program.

I'm using dsl lite with a 768kbps down speed, have used more than 5 hours and it still isn't done? My connection is just about the speed it's rated for!

Anyone have any ideas why? Thanx beforehand in case ya do ! :-)®

Portable Age of Empires Gold

Submitted by D4vid on August 25, 2006 - 5:08pm

Hello!

I am trying to make a portable launcher for the wonderful game Age of Empires Gold.
But there is one slight problem that i would need some help with.
Because i get this error message when the launcher tries to start age of empires.

You know shortcuts, when you choose properties on them they have a field called Start in, in the "start in" field there is the path to the directory where the target file is located. The thing is that my age of empires launcher gets the same error message that you would get if you would have messed up the "start in" field in a shortcut to age of empires.

John, regarding the INIs...

@ John T. Haller
Please don't remove INI support. No offense, but I can't stand your directory layout ("App"... igh. I hate abbreviations), so I've created my own. If you take out the INI support, I'll have to revert to the standard layout. *shudder* I may actually stop updating the launchers if it meant I'd lose INI support.

Another problem with the standard layout is that it puts each of the launchers in a separate directory. You can't really combine various App/Data directories into single folders or you'd probably end up with file/folder name conflicts. I like having all my launchers in a single directory for easy access, which the INIs allow me to do.

Portable Apps -- A Web Development Suite

Hi guys,

Great site, great software.

I don't know if its been published before, but I was looking for a "Web Development" Suite of Portable Apps ... so I could work on things away from home.

I cobbled together a few of my favourites, and loaded up portable Firefox with my favourite web development extensions as well.

If you're interested in a copy, you can pick up a copy ---.

Dock Launchers in General

Submitted by kennydjr83 on July 28, 2006 - 12:08pm

I have found a way to use any standalone dock launcher (such as RKLauncher http://home.cogeco.ca/~rklauncher/ or y'z dock http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2790 ) but it is tedious.

In case you dont know what a dock launcher is, It's basically a program launcher that looks like the macOS launcher. It's a clean and efficient way to launch programs, and in my eyes, is a better alternative to the portable launching apps avaliable. The problems is that although RKLauncher and y'z dock are standalone applications, they have trouble using relative paths for shortcuts, rendering them useless as a portable app.
