Firefox Portable

Is there going to be a .17 portable release? I'm using PA FF 2.x on my win 98 box & would really appreciate the security update. I tried manually updating PA FF with the .mar file, but it wouldn't take it (error 6).

I don't know if this a Portable problem or a Firefox one. The update to 3.0.2 went fine, but with this one clicking "Restart Firefox now" closes the browser, then pretty soon the updater shows up in Task Manager, but instead of seeing "Firefox is installing..." I get the Windows "Run as.." dialog box. When I click that, it and the updater are gone and I start over (4 times). Any ideas?

Is there any way to have Firefox start up differently depending on the IP Address currently being used, or by the Windows Username that has been logged in?

I would like to use my Portable Firefox at three different locations -- home, a library, and work. Each has different proxy settings (or none in the case of home.)

Currently, I am using FoxyProxy to switch between different proxy requirements at work, but I do not want to have to switch its settings each time I start Firefox from a different location or login.

I've been using Portable Firefox on my thumb drive for over a year now. I just got a new computer and was wondering if I even need to install Firefox on my computer or if I should just use the portable version on my thumb drive. Are there any benefits of using a regular version (or disadvantages to the portable version other than reducing the drives life)?

Extensions don't load on the college computer-they used to be to able load there and suddenly stopped. They load fine elsewhere and I think they don't here because of some restrictions. Tell me if I can make them load somehow.

I upgraded to 3.0.1, then nearly immediately to 3.0.2 and bookmarks appear to be broken. I cannot create any bookmarks and all my keyword searches are gone. When I open the bookmark manager, all the selections for "New Bookmark", "New Folder", etc are grayed out. I checked all the settings and I can't figure out what's up.

Semi-relatedly, my AwesomeBar does not pull up any saved webpages. Perhaps my profile data got lost somehow? That doesn't really explain why I can't create new bookmarks, though.

I have been having a problem with the Search Box in the top right of Firefox Portable. After a period of use, sometimes weeks-sometimes days, the search box just stops working. I type in a search parameter and click the button (or press enter) and nothing happens.

After some troubleshooting, I have found that I can fix the problem by deleting the file "formhistory.sqlite-journal". Any ideas about what could be causing this?

I have searched for this problem on the forum but didn't see it, so if it is already out there and I missed it, I apologize.

Yes, i've searched, and their isn't a plugin because of how it reads the registry. But this computer has java installed on it! How come Firefox won't recognize it?

Can somebody help me and explain why this appears whenever I open my addon screen
