Logging with different user loses settings

Submitted by panos0 on August 29, 2008 - 11:59am

I have created and application that uses Firefox Portable. I have modified the chrome and altered some settings. After that i created an installer that copies the firefox portable files to a location to the hard diskc c:\folder.
When i run the application as the user who installed the software Firefox Portable launches fine and all the settings are as defined. When i log out and run it as another user (non admin) the application starts but it wont start at the home page. Also when i click the home page button it launches the firefox home page, not mine home page.

How to hide traces of Firefox Portable at Work...?

There is an "Only Internet Explorer" rule at my office - I was asked to uninstall Firefox off of my computer. So I did, and after crying for a few months, I then installed and used Firefox Portable. Last night I got an email from my Network Manager saying that he ran a "secure scan" on my computer and detected Firefox. He also asked me to remove it from my machine - of course, it's not ON my machine. However, the fact is that a scan is picking up the usage of a version of Firefox.

installing multiple versions of FF in Apps Suite?

Submitted by mdiviesti on August 27, 2008 - 10:11am

Hi all,
First, I am new to these boards (and this is my first post). I've used the search bar on this forum to attempt to find my answer. Unfortunately, it's either never been posed or my searchfu is broken.

I was wondering if there was any possible way to install firefox3 along side firefox2 in the suite. This would make my debugging world much easier to handle, especially as I tend to go back and forth between different computers (screen resolution, windows versions, etc).

Any way to keep SWFs from storing data in C:/blahblah?

I'm using FFP and installed flash ('self-contained' on my usb stick) successfully, it's running good. Except that I still can't figure out how to keep flash interactive games from storing data in a C:\... path. I'd really prefer if the games would store their data wherever I tell them, or at least off the firefoxportable\ branch. Is this a behaviour I can force on flash apps under FFP?

What if the PFF launcher checked say "C:\Programs Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" if its there and the same version as pff then launch it with the profile on the USB that way it would save the reading of the flash drive to only the profile(I have reg firefox installed but never use it it would be better it both could be launched at once form 2 different sources)
