Help! Flash plugin will not work if FirefoxExecutable is changed

Submitted by edmund11 on August 18, 2008 - 8:24am

Dear all,

Could get flash plugin to work, however:

I have changed the FirefoxExecutable to point to FF.exe

I have changed the name of the filename itself to FF.exe, as instructed in the readme.

Now the flash plugin does not work anymore.

Thanks folks! Need this quite fast.

Wont start after add-on update

Submitted by wolf99 on August 15, 2008 - 9:39am

Have FFP 3.1 installed and clicked to launch, the add-on updater asked me if I wanted to install updates for tor, better gmail and no-script (and maybe download -helper) they seemed to update ok but then FF wouldnt launch, just a message with something along the lines of "there has been a crash, would you like to quit or retry, and would you like to report this?"

the report fails and a retry fails only thing that works is quiting. Am using an old 2.15 install currently.

the report contents are:

BuildID: 2008070208
CrashTime: 1218807603
InstallTime: 1218807603
ProductName: Firefox

Firefox Portable leaves files on host?

Submitted by Franz47 on August 14, 2008 - 10:30am

I started to use Portable Firefox and Thundbird under the assumption that they do not leave ane traces on the host I use. In contratry to this assumption Firefox definitely writes filesonto the hard disk of the computer of the network of my employer and leaves them even after removig the USB-stick. Can I do anything against this? These files grow so big sometimes that I am prompted to wipe them off before logging out from my account under XP.

Flash plugin for Firefox3

Submitted by gratefulfrog on August 14, 2008 - 5:05am

I've followed the post on firefox3 installation and it worked perfectly.

However, I can't seem to get the flash plugin (or the shockwave) to install?

When I run it as an exe file, it installs to the firefox on the hard disk, but not to the the portable app. There doesn't seem to be a way of telling the installer where to find the portable firefox.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
GF.
